Well, what can I say?? From the moment we met the owner on reception on our first day until we left, I have nothing but praise for this excellent family run hotel. The lady on reception with her husband, the main chef, their daughter and son, plus another two waiters and a chef were the staff we saw. They are a superb team working like a well oiled machine together in their manning of the man,; the sharing of who covers what part of the restaurant etc. There are clearly other people involved such as cleaners - our room was spotless every day- and kitchen staff. We really enjoyed our eight day stay. They were all very kind in letting me try out my Italian that I have been learning even though they all speak very good English. That kind touch was much appreciated by me.|We are not normally to be found staying for that length of time in one hotel: we tend to move after one or two nights but walking in the VAl de Gardena didn't lend itself to that sort of holiday. We were told about some of the best walks to do but the best advice was to use the local, and very regular and punctual bus, for free for guests in hotels in the area. We used our hire car once in the eight days!! We even went to Bolzano by bus on a rainy day. |We had booked in on a bed and breakfast basis but for the first night, for ease, we thought we'd try the hotel's restaurant menu at 25euros a head. I have to say the antipasti buffet was delicious, immense, and thoroughly enjoyed as was the rest of that day's menu. So much so that there were only two nights when we didn't eat in the hotel. It is a very popular thing to do by most of its guests. The food is fresh and of excellent quality.|The breakfast buffet is also very good too.|We only used the pool once on a wet Sunday afternoon but that, like everything about this hotel, has been built to a very high standard.|Of an evening we enjoyed a drink looking at the fab view before dinner.|Thank you for a wonderful stay.|P.S. We were in room 210 which was a great size with a large balcony, sofa and very comfy bed and a great view. We did ask for a top sheet as the duvet was too warm for the weather and this we were given...

Our family with kids 11 and 14 y stayed at Scherlin 5 nights halfboard in June 2025. We loved the views over the Ortisei valley with evening sun, and the pools. The only negative was the lack of AC, or even a fan, as it was over 30 degrees Celsius. The dinner at 7 PM was usually good and varied, but pretty simple. You chose your primi , secondi and dessert each morning. There was always a buffet with a wide selection of antipasti. Breakfast was good, except the juices which were mixtures, not fresh. You could even order a portion of eggs according to your taste. The indoor pool was open from early morning until 11PM, the outdoor pool closed at 7PM. There was even a separate small timbered house with a wood fired sauna. They heated it too much though (+100 Celsius), so it was nicer to use it late in the evening when it had cooled a bit. Other activities were 2 x table tennis outside and a small playground for small kids. It was convenient to take the bus (get your free Gardenia pass ticket from the hotel) outside the hotel to Ortisei, Castelrotto or Siusi for the cable cars, and avoid the cost and hazzle of parking. Note that the Siusi cable car is cheaper than Ortisei. There is no day pass that includes both lifts unfortunately. For Alpe di Siusi we liked taking single tickets with cable car up from Ortisei, walk across the meadows and descend by cable car to Siusi. I highly recommend Scherlin and this part of the Dolomites!

Amazing staff and great view of the valley. Food was super good. We stayed at the hotel two weeks ago and were very impressed by the services. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. We stayed at the Junior suite, the room was spacious and very clean. The balcony has breathtaking valley view especially during sunrise and sunset. We chose the half board option and the dinner was very delicious and plentiful. The antipasti buffet has a varieties of fresh vegetable, cold cuts and small bites. Main course were superb. We stayed for 3 nights and the main courses always switch around the pork knuckles were our favorites. There wede 6-7 options for dessert, all are very good especially the ice cream. If we have a chance of visiting Ortisei again, we would definitely stay there. Will recommend to others as well.

AMAZING!!!! We had an absolutely amazing stay at Hotel Scherlin in Val Gardena! From the very first moment, Patrik welcomed us with such warmth and care, going above and beyond to make sure every detail of our stay was perfect. He helped us with planning down to the smallest things and made us feel completely at home. The view from the hotel is breathtaking, the facilities are truly relaxing and family-friendly, and the food was out of this world – an endless variety of top-quality dishes, all served with a huge smile by the incredibly kind chef. We enjoyed every single moment and there is no doubt we will be back. A huge thank you to Patrik, the chef, and the Scherlin family for such outstanding hospitality and an unforgettable experience!
