The Agriturismo Poggiacolle was just the right stay for us to start into our Italy vacation and forget the busy city-life - a beautiful old farmhouse with infinity pool surrounded by the quiet, beautiful landscape of Tuscany. From the pool, we had a view on the ancient town San Gimignano. Stefano and Daniela were great hosts and we felt very welcomed and comfortable. They recommended some sights to see in the area (Volterra, Certaldo and Siena are beautiful cities) and restaurants to eat at (try "enjoy" in San Gimignano - delicious food, nice waiters, amazing view). As welcome present, we got a bottle of their own red wine and we liked it so much we bought and drank some more ;) The breakfast was good, especially the cheese. They offer free bike rental, however the area has a lot of hills so it requires some sweat to get around ;) Our room was very pretty, the bathroom clean, and we had a kitchenette and direct access to our own terrace where we spent a lot of time playing board games and sipping wine. The pool is amazing - clean, big enough to actually swim in, amazing view, and every room had their own sun lounger and umbrella. We had the feeling they took hygiene very serious so even during covid-19 we felt very safe. If you like nature and need some place to relax and calm down - Agriturismo Poggiacolle is the place to be! We recommend it 100%! It was a better experience than we could have ever imagined and just gave us so much peace and quiet to start relaxed in our holiday. We will never forget the amazing days we spent here and will forever keep them in our hearts. Thank you so much for having us! We would love...
Read moreWe had a wonderfull time in Poggiacolle! This is a great place with the most friendly people you will meet. Stefano is really friendly and helpfull, proud on what he is doing there with the agri and with his wines and olives. Daniela is always responding very fst and friendly to any questions we had and the cleaning ladies who come every day (very nice bonus) were also very accomodating. Our 6 person apartment is basically the best on the property ;-)|Its ground floor with 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. Good kitchen and bbq outside. The magic is in the bedroom windows as from your bed you can see the "skyline" of San Gimignano. Then 2nd treat is the outside terrace. Again the best view of San Gimignano plus a very nice evening sun that settles behind the olive garden in front of us.|Then there is a fantastic infinity pool with enough sunbeds and umbrella's for all guests, not to forget the great garden around, including the fenced part where our dog was able to walk freely around.|We also had a very nice cooking lesson and great conversation with Deborah from Toscane di Gusto!||We will do our best to come back with the rest of our family!||Grazzi Mille a tutti *||PS Sorry Stefano but on our last evening I cut some Rosemary and Sage from your bushes to take home to Netherlands..... Hope you dont mind as it will grow back soon..... The result is that we still eat our potatoes and meats with these fresh herbs and the fantastic smell-memory of Tuscany and Poggiacolle in...
