Sehr freundliches Personal.

I’m something of a pampered creature. I work hard and it pays well. My hotel choices are traditionally the Four Seasons, Mandarin Oriental or Kempinski - neither of which are present in San Vito lo Capo. We settled on Karma – it has literally no reviews on TripAdvisor. We called and the voice on the phone said it was a 3 star – my heart sank, but we decided to go anyway. My worries were totally groundless. ||||Karma is in Casteluzzo which is a 10 minute drive from San Vito. It is a beautiful little village with some of the friendliest people you are likely to encounter in your life. We found ourselves fighting to pay for stuff! San Vito – well, it’s is beautiful by day, but by evening it is crowded & LOUD. You could not pay me enough to stay in San Vito itself. Bearing that in mind, Casteluzzo is well worth the drive. The beach at San Vito is nice, but if you should go to the reserve at Zingaro and experience the 2nd pebble beach (walk about 20mins further from the 1st one). I hate pebble beaches, but the pebbles are really soft and fine here – trust me, it’s well worth the walk. ||||Karma is within a converted house which overlooks the sea. There is a beautiful roof terrace with hammocks, games, wine, music, pillows, etc… it is stunning. The first thing you notice about the room & the toilet is that is new and spotlessly clean. The room is spacious – king size bed, mini-bar, plasma TV, luggage rack, wardrobe & a very silent air conditioner. I’ve been in 5 star hotels that have had worse décor & aren’t as well appointed. ||Then there is the owner – Danielle (pronounced Dha-nie-ellay). Young and full spirited, he runs this place with a frankly remarkable manner. He knew every guest by their name and he refers to you by your name when asking for your breakfast choice or anything else – you don’t really get that anywhere, anymore. Realizing that my wife was pregnant, he bought a special disinfectant to wash the vegetables & fruits – who does that anymore? He personally churns out Michelin star breakfasts from the kitchen, presented using the best local produce. The food looks so good that it feels like a crime to eat it. He’s also something of a hit with the local folks as well – any restaurant you go to, any shop you go to & mention that you are staying at Danielle’s place and the attitude changes. ||||So good was this place, that we extended our initial stay by 2 days. I would blindly book to stay at Karma – again &...

If you are looking for a beautiful and classy place to go but aren't yet ready to give up the summer crowds, Karma is the right destination. I went there last summer with my boyfriend and stayed for two weeks. We were amazed to find a modern and trendy structure "alla milanese" that at the same time exalted the qualities and traditions of Sicilly. ||Karma is in the small town of Castelluzzo, and i mean REALLY small :) but that's exactly why I loved it - after the big city and stress, we needed a bit more room to breathe. At the same time, however, San Vito lo Capo, a famous summer destination, is right around the corner - 5min by car and we were able to enjoy cocktails, live music and a bit more "action" :)||One of the most beautiful sides of Karma is its terrace with its flowers, hammock, bed, a very "english" reading corner and small coffee tables where we anjoyed some of the most delicious breakfasts and some of the most beaustiful sunsets ever. What i loved about the breakfast is that it's different every day, each morning the owner offers a personal creation that unites tradition and modernity, sicillian and international - for those of you who are curious and ready to experiment, that's the place!||The only thing that could create difficulties is that fact that there is no transportation and if you don't have a car, you ned to rent it in order to be able to move around, and you definitely will want to - there are stunning places like "la riserva dello zingaro", etc. Karma itself is not on beach; for the two of us renting a couple of bikes from Karma was a perfect way to reach it in 5min. In any case, the owner is very helpful and really tries to offer the best solution for you.||AH, one more thing, we don't speak italian apart from what we've heard in "The Godfather", which created some funny situations, since the english of the owner is not exactly perfect, but we had no real problems actually - be ready for some...

We stayed with Daniele for 5 days at the beginning of our trip around Sicily this year. We found a real treasure in this property- there are five rooms in the upper portion of a fairly new townhouse in the quiet streets of Caseluzzo. But the quiet part is great for relaxing and unwinding- it is only about an hour from the Palermo airport, and only ten minutes over to the beaches at San Vito and a little further on to the Zingaro reserve on the east coast.||While researching our holiday in Sicily we found the reviews on TA for Daniele's B&B, and initially we wanted to stay in San Vito so carried on looking there- but luckily I kept coming back to the photos of the Karma Vacanze site- they looked too good to go past- indeed they are. We decided that San Vito looked like a major tourist trap- I think that is sadly about right.||Daniele has made a wonderfully welcoming home away from home- we arrived to be shown to the Grey room which has the only sea facing balcony, with seating and space to lounge outside.||The bathroom is something of a Versace styled, mosaic framed room- very tastefully done with double monsoon showerheads. The room itself is large enough for two people and has the bonus of the outdoor balcony.||Breakfast in summer is usually served on the upper terrace but due to the changeable weather while we were there in early June we dined inside each morning. Daniele creates something very special every morning for breakfast from the Sicilian dolce repertoire- with a modern twist often. We ate wonderful cannoli, creme caramel, a mille foglie, a delightful pannacotta with local Malvasia wine flavoured cookies- a real foodie treat each morning. Then there is the changing array of breads, fruits, sweets and biscuits that are presented so beautifully- he must work in a Michelin starred restaurant..........||His information about the local area, and dining recommendation is also top notch, we...
