Masseria Vignenove — Hotel in Uggiano la Chiesa

We absolutely loved the Masseria Vignenove - Fabrizio the owner and manager was onsite and looked after us wonderfully - he speaks excellent English and offered us a map of the local area with some really good recommendations of restaurants, bars, beaches and other interesting places to visit. This was a great help and the restaurants and bars we went to locally were great. ||||The masseria is charming, very well kept and spotlessly clean - Fabrizio takes Covid-19 very seriously and all the staff wear masks and breakfast was served to us at our allocated table in the pretty undercover space looking out over fig and olive trees. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious with a different selection each day and many things home made or home grown. ||||We had a twin room that was very spacious with comfy beds and a great shower in the bathroom. There were shutters on the windows to block out the beautiful sunshine early morning and good Air con. ||||The Masseria is set in pretty surroundings with trees and lawns and a hammocks - we wished we had spent more time there but we were off exploring the beaches near by. The masseria is set at the edge of Uggiano which itself is charming. We had a very good meal at Matisse on one night and good sunset drinks at Skafe (10 minutes away on the coast at Porto Badisco. ||||We were very well looked after and thought this excellent value for money too. We would definitely recommend...

Gefallen hat uns die Anlage insgesamt schon sehr gut. Der Pool liegt etwas erhöht, man sieht die ganze Umgebung.||Fabrizio hat uns für die Räder und den Fahrradträger Platz in einer Art Käfig gemacht. Das war sehr beruhigend. ||Gemäß Fabrizio ist die Gegend recht sicher.||Toll ist die Wäschleine hinter dem Haus. Wenn man etwas aufhängt, ist es durch Sonne und Wind schnell trocken.||Auch der sehr gut funktionierende Kühlschrank ist toll.||Die 3 Gazebos am Pool sind sehr dekorativ, geben Schatten, aber nur mit Lücken. Außerdem steht einer so, dass nachmittags die Pflanzen Schatten haben. Und unter zweien stehen Sitzmöbel. Wenn die Sitzmöbel weg wären oder weniger wären, könnte man die Gazebos besser nutzen. Zu wenig ist es trotzdem. Am 15. August (Feiertag) waren alle (6 Zimmer) am Pool. Da war es schon eng.||Die Zimmer haben den Ausgang alle direkt ins Freie.||Nicht gefallen hat uns folgendes: Man bekommt nur einen Schlüsselbund, der nicht trennbar ist. Also muss immer die Zimmertüre offen bleiben, wenn einer drin ist und die 2. Person außen. Die Türe hat nämlich keinen Griff draußen. Mit Griff außen wäre dieses Problem zumindest gelöst. ||Der Strom wird teilweise über einen kleinen Schlüssel (auch am Schlüsselbund) geregelt.|Wenn dieser außerhalb ist, geht keine Klimaanlage. So ist es nicht möglich während des Abendessens 2 Stunden das Zimmer zu kühlen und nachts ohne Klimaanlage zu schlafen. Es ist aber nicht sparsamer, ggf die ganze Nacht die Klimaanlage laufen lassen, statt 2-4 Stunden während des Abendessens.||Das ist für uns ein Grund, uns gegen die Anlage zu entscheiden. Wenn man ohne Klimaanlage schlafen möchte, geht das nur mit vorherigem Kühlen. Das akzeptiert Fabrizio nicht. In unserem Fall wollte mein Partner nicht mit Klimaanlage schlafen. Ich konnte wegen der Hitze dann aber gar nicht schlafen. |Hingegen funktioniert die Klimaanlage bei offenem Fenster und oder Türe (nach draußen). Das ergibt keinen Sinn.||Das Strom-Konzept ist nicht durchgängig. Das Licht im Bad und das Hauptlicht im Zimmer funktionieren ohne den kleinen Schlüssel.|Geräte laden am Nachttisch und im Bad wiederum geht nicht ohne den Schlüssel. Es sei denn man hat einen Verteiler für die Steckdose des Kühlschrankes. Der funktioniert immer.||Es gibt leider keinen Tresor im Zimmer. Der fehlt.||Das WLan im Haus ist schwach, auch die Reichweite. In Süditalien gibt es oft kein Netz. Daher wäre Wifi bis zum Pool wichtig.||Als verantwortungsbewusster Mensch möchte ich schon noch selbst entscheiden, ob ich zwei Stunden abends oder die ganze Nacht die Klimaanlage nutze oder...

Difficult to describe the atmosphere you will find in Masseria Vignenove||We were here on September 11th and 12th and we were fully satisfied. What an unforgettable atmosphere and peace!||+ Extremely good location, close to Otranto and gorgeous sandy beaches (e.g. Baia dei Turchi, Alimini)||+ Peaceful countryside with plenty of choice where to go to eat||+ Tasteful masseria with well furnished and spacious rooms||+ Very helpful and nice landlord (grazie Fabrizio, keep up the good job!)||+ Delicious breakfast (even too much to eat, if you are on a diet, stay away!)||+ Price paid. Honestly you will have a very bad time to look for the same quality at a similar price. We travel regularly in Puglia almost every year and this place is well worth every penny.||+ Super funny and sweet catty wondering around...
