Residence Prunali — Hotel in Unione dei comuni della Versilia

This small resort is looking nice at the pictures but is located at the junction of an express way exit/entrance and the very busy main road through the village. In addition, the loading bay of the supermarket is just behind the hedge and creates additional noise. We never sat outside during our stay. From the terrace at the swimming pool, you have a view at the highway too, although the noise can not be heard.||||The resort has a lot of ambition to be elegant, but the details suck. The bathroom had not be cleaned when we arrived and the shower curtain was very dirty. We had no electricity in the kitchen but an extension cord to a socket behind us as "the architect had forgotten to plan sockets at the worktop". We had to step over the cord continuously. All drawers in the bedrooms could not be used due to a heavy smell. We also noticed this in the couch (although they made an attept to camouflage it with a home fragrance). It looks as if these residences stay unheated during winter which allows moist to settle in.||||Wifi was at a terribly slow speed and many times we could not even go online.||||All in all this residence was a major disappointment. We booked a room in Prunali at the end of August. The plan was to have a relaxing and restful/silent short holiday. |We read the reviews here and on other websites too late about the noise from the surroundings and the highway.|Because the owner is not transparent about this on his website and in his communication we wanted to get our 150 euros down payment back. The communication with the owner is very slow and it seems like he only reads his mail once a week or simply ignores you. |The owner didn't want to refund our down payment and only offered us 1/3 of the amount namely 50 euros. Up until now he has NOT payed the amount back. He mentioned that his booking office would refund this but he has never payed it. |So anyone thinking about booking here, think twice as this is a dishonest person how thinks he can get away with this kind of behavior...

Recently back from a weeks visit to residence prunali, and have to say it is a lovely place to stay. The owners Rudolf & Fabio are so hospitable and couldn’t be any nicer. We were here for my sisters wedding in nearby Lucca, and 17 of our family stayed over 5 apartments. Each apartment was individually designed and to a very high end luxury finish. We had a couple of outdoor barbecues in the communal area in the grounds. Loved every bit of it. ||Yes, it is out of the way but we were staying in gorgeous Tuscany, not a club 18-30 resort.
