In late June and in the beginning of July we spent a week at Domus Etrusca. We have stayed in many different places all around Italy for the last 15 years but never have we felt so extremely welcome at an agriturismo. Beautiful surroundings, friendly atmosphere and we felt like we were a part of their family. Every night Christiano, the owner, and his lovely wife Elisabeta, prepared genuine Tuscany dishes such as bistecca a la Fiorentina, risotto, tagliata de manzo and fried zucchini flowers. The food was fantastic! We ate together with the other guests and the family and their friends, Fabio and Stefano, in the pergola. Every night was magic. We actually had another stay already booked for our last couple of days of vacation but we cancelled that stay and returned to our favorite Italian family! I highly recommend doing the half-board option and staying for 4-10 nights with a rental car so you can do day trips to the countryside in Val d’Orcia. The food was amazing every night. We already had most of our days planned out before we came to Domus, but our host Cristiano had plenty of suggestions that were nearby that we didn’t know about that also sounded amazing and could easily fill a week and a half. This is a great place to explore Tuscany and Val d’Orcia from. We did do one of his suggestions on our free day - the hot springs (45 minute drive) and it was the perfect way to relax during a busy vacation. We thoroughly enjoyed the relaxed outdoor dinners on the long table that allowed for interaction with the other guests. Domus Etrusca was a great place to stay,...
