This place that was mentioned on booking .com, as a hotel or B&B, is really a cottage in the middle of nowhere. The place is in the mountain, far from everything, and there is only one small winding road up from a main street in Rapallo, that takes over 20 minutes to get to it. This cottage, is about 100 feet below the small narrow road above it. You have to go down through multiple narrow paths and Open stairs in different directions at the edge of the cliff to get to this cottage. It is impossible for a handicapped person or people with arthritis or heart problems to go down and up through this , and if you have luggage, just forget it. The way down and up on these narrow, open to the air, stones and concrete stairs is not only dangerous but exhausting. The room is not even close to what in the pictures, it was so small, nothing in it, no AC and no heater, nothing to put our suitcase on, we have to open our luggage on the bare floor, that was a kitchen tiles but described on booking. com as marble. The ceiling is supported by two wooden logs, the bathroom is so small, you cannot even open it’s door while you are inside it, the shower Draine is clogged up, no free accessible plug to charge our phones. The area is deserted, nobody around you, and the place is so primitive, and the price is outrageous. We booked room for two nights, but the first night was bad, the bed was small, the pillows were paper thin and there were no other pillows In the room. We called the owner at night and we told him that our booking says "Deluxe Room" and this is not even close to a bad room. In the morning we were prepared to leave ASAP, and since breakfast was included, we went to eat something, but we were not surprised to find a small covered space with three tables and, few items like stale bread, old heated few croissants, and cold coffee and few other old items cannot be eaten. We fled as quickly as we could. The only good thing about the place...
Read moreOn arrival it was very obvious that the property is in a state of disrepair: the swimming pool had a lot of leaves and algae and plaster was falling off the walls. When our host showed us inside she explained there was no light in the hall which led to our bedroom - this meant we needed to use a Torch to get out. The room itself was dusty and had cobwebs, a socket at the bed side had fallen apart leaving the electrical components unprotected and hazardous, the tower fan was broken at the base and fell over, the wifi did not work, the TV aerial was not plugged in and so did not work. 5 minutes after our arrival all the electricity went off after we heard a large ‘click’ - presumably a fuse issue. We rang our host who initially answered and then hung up and answered no further calls, despite us trying for well over an hour. We looked around the property for anyone else to assist to no avail. A large dog appeared |to be locked in the ‘breakfast room’ and its hair was visible on the tables and it was walking against bed sheets which were drying on the airer. We decided to leave this property so our holiday would not be ruined by such an experience. I have contacted the host who has not...
