We had a perfect two days stay at Shunko's place with my dog. 1.The property was inside the temple which was built over 700years. It was historical, clean, fresh and amazing. Also I was really surprised by its aesthetic and function. 2.There is a big terrace and garden which you can enjoy the sunshine and spend some great time with your dog. 2. We experienced the Zazen and Shakyo with SHUNKO san. He was so friendly and helped us a lot for enjoying the temple and surroundings. We hope to come back soon and stay more time in this wonderful place.

I had the best sleep of my life here. 💤 Woke up feeling very rejuvenated and refreshed even though it was a futon! Very unique stay - whole temple to your self. Rented the bbq equipment & brought my own ingredients. The setup is well planned. More bugs than I thought (end of April), the gardens in the bbq area & roof felt slightly like an afterthought but host was extremely easy to deal with. Great vibes & beautiful stay overall. Even though it’s next to a cemetery.

The room or building is very clean and modernised Japanese style with tatami mats in the room. Dining area can be walked with shoes or slippers provided in the room. Very peaceful area and good for studying and barbecuing. Pizza oven is also there to make your own pizza. Only thing is that there is no bathtub and only shower room. Great retreat place get your self together in peaceful environment.

In an improbable location, this beautiful home next to an enchanting temple was a lively stop off for our family. The host (himself a monk) was friendly and helpful. The accommodation is in a beautifully renovated family home with no attention spared (fresh coffee for grinding, pillow fragrances). We recommend the morning chanting sutra and a fantastic BBQ the night before. Definitely worth a stay if you are...
