The service was excellent beyond expectations. I was served by receptionist Pasi who is proficient in English and he was so caring. I first went to him because I need a toothbrush. He said I can find them on the 3rd floor but he gave me one over the counter. He then arranged for me to go on the free shuttle bus to the nearby onsen. He gave me maps for walking trails around the hotel. He also asked his colleague to take care of my luggage on my checkout because it was his day off. He is supper efficient down to small details and makes me feel at peace since I don't speak Japanese. It really makes me feel welcome and there is no need to worry as this is my first time visiting this hotel. Food is so, so and the food label was not reliable as it contains meat but wasn't specified. I am vegetarian, so I learned to rely on my careful selection. Good to have a toy like clock in all their lifts to keep track of time. The rock climbing staff are very helpful and accommodate me being an adult to try the rock climbing as I thought it was for kids only. For access, I got on their airport shuttle bus. Otherwise, it is quite cumbersome to catch a train and then a local bus from Chitoseairport. The location is secluded, and I managed to take a local bus from the hotel to Aeon department store in the city of Date. Great...
Read moreOur room was quite large even in American standard. The window faces west and in the morning the sun lights up the trees in splendid color on the mountain next to the hotel. Between the mountain and the hotel is a stream with leafy trees, some already turning bright red in early October. Walking on the shady trail next to the stream was quite pleasant. The hotel is equipped with separate hot spring pools for men and women with the requirement that no clothing is allowed inside the pool area. As long as you can accept the rules, the experience was quite relaxing. The breakfast and dinner buffets were top notch, with countless delicious selections to choose from. As a bonus, the roof area is great for watching stars at night since the area is so secluded. The hotel also installed several open enclosures to shield the roof lights while the guests are inside the enclosure watching the stars. This is definitely a great hotel to relax in the...
