Yamazaki — Hotel in Echizen

Loved this place & our sea view room was just amazing. I totally enjoyed the magnificent sea view & peaceful atmosphere in this place. All the decorations throughout this Japanese styled building (kominka) were beautiful and thoughtfully presented. The seafood dinner which served in our room was just so fresh & delicious. The staff who served our dinner was friendly & kind. The breakfast was more than enough to finish including monk fish hot pot (ankou nabe) alongside Japanese style breakfast. The public bath (onsen) had a nice sea view & I enjoyed soaking in the hot soa. We took a bus to get there as we didn’t have a car and it took around an hour to get there from Takefu JR station. Highly recommended to try this place when you visit...

We spent one night at the Yamazaki Riokan and everything was perfect from our arrival to our departure. We booked the very large and comfortable Shion room (70+ sqm) with private onsen (note that the Ryokan has -obviously - also a very nice and cosy public onsen). Service was great and for those who do not speak Japanese, do not worry hosts do have a very helpful and funny translator device. Last but not least, dinner and breakfast were excellent with lots of fresh seafood....
