[Oct 2019] Stayed with my wife and a sister (3 people) for 3 nights for 100,423 yen. It's a little expensive, but it's a corner suite with two bedrooms!
In addition to the bedrooms, there was a living room with an attached kitchen. The capacity was for six people, but there was only one sofa bed in the living room.
The overall impression was that it was a slightly luxurious condominium. The first bedroom had two semi-doubles. It was spacious enough for two adults and two small children.
The other bedroom had a single king-size bed, but that bed was wider horizontally than vertically! This room also had its own shower and toilet. I stayed alone in this room and there were a total of 8 pillows and cushions...
Before going to bed, the sound of children running in the room above me bothered me, but after getting into bed, the noise from the bikers was quite disturbing and woke me up many times during the night.
I thought this would not be the case in a hotel in Tokyo, so the windows and other soundproofing measures were at or below the level of condominiums.
Early morning view from the room. I was excitedly waiting for the sunrise before 5:00 a.m., thinking I could see it, but I realized later that the room faces north...
On the first day, we had breakfast at the hotel. Breakfast was not included in the room charge, so it costed 1,815 yen per person (including tax and service charge). I didn't think it was overpriced, but compared to the breakfast at the Moon Beach Hotel in Onna Village (stayed in GW 2015) in the same group, it was more than two ranks down. The breakfast at Moon Beach Hotel was quite high level. Maybe because of that, my expectations were too high. The picture shows red fish and chicken steak. Of course, the Mozuku was delicious! From the second day, we had a fruit-filled breakfast in my room, as the kitchen was available.
The problem was that the location was far from the city area and inconvenient. I thought I would not be able to move around...
Read moreAbsolutely loved our 5 night stay at Moon Ocean! We were there for a business trip and the location was convenient to the 2 locations we needed to attend. Our room was awesome - plenty of room and loved having a bath and balcony with views. We were on level 3 so view from balcony not as great as from higher up as trees got in the way, but still gorgeous. Air con in both lounge room and bedroom which both worked well. Housekeeping did an immaculate job of servicing the room every day, and each time they left 2 new bottles of water. One odd thing about the rooms - we had a microwave and a single hot plate, but there were no plates, pots, cutlery, utensils, dish washing detergent or tea towels in the room. We didn’t need them and I’m sure you could ring reception for them as they were very helpful, it just seemed odd.|The pool & hot tub hours were quite restricted for summer which we found odd.|We got the buffet breakfast included with our accommodation for convenience, but breakfast didn’t open until 7am so we found that tricky on days we had early starts. However the day of checkout when we had to leave before 7am to get to the airport we asked reception and they put together a takeaway lunch box for us that we collected at 6:30am on checkout which was amazing and so appreciated!|We dined in the restaurant a couple of times for dinner and enjoyed lovely meals. However last orders are taken at 8pm so sometimes that was too early for us and we missed out.|All of the staff were super friendly and helpful.|Plenty of car parking available if you have a rental car.|There is a little supermarket just down and across the road open 24hrs (walking distance) which was very convenient. Another much bigger supermarket in the shopping centre by the main road (again walking distance), open late but not 24 hrs.|We would definitely stay...
Read moreCompared to big city hotels (like Tokyo, New York, etc) the roominess was very welcome! Even the most basic configuration rooms consist of sleeping area, living room area, kitchen sink area with fridge & microwave, a bathtub/shower with scenic view & every room faces the ocean so you get a floor to ceiling window & patio with great ocean view.||The staff is very helpful & restaurant is very nice, with decent variety for breakfast buffet & more upscale for dinner hours. ||Within walking distance is the marina, Tropical Beach, & Round One to keep the kids entertained. About a block down the street is San-A shopping center where you can buy typical souvenir food stuff but without the jacked up tourist pricing. You can also get decent quality clothing & fashionable items at reasonable prices (if you from U.S., think Target or Walmart).||The shopping center also has several restaurants. We loved the donut shop, & also the robot restaurant (the servers are robots - real robots, the mechanical kind, not humans dressed as robots).||The relatively central location of this hotel also meant we could call a cab & head out almost anywhere without breaking the bank. ||We would definitely...
