I recently stayed at this hotel and, unfortunately, my experience was quite disappointing for several reasons.
First and foremost, the staff's proficiency in English was extremely poor, making communication incredibly challenging. Every time we needed assistance or had a question, we found ourselves struggling to make the staff understand what we were saying. This language barrier led to numerous misunderstandings and extended interactions that should have been simple and straightforward. It is perplexing that a hotel catering to international guests would not prioritize having staff members who are proficient in English. Effective communication is fundamental in the hospitality industry, and the lack of it severely impacted our overall experience.
Another significant issue was the availability of baby amenities, specifically baby bathtubs. The hotel only has four baby bathtubs, which seems inadequate for a facility of its size. This implies that the hotel can only accommodate four families with babies at a time, which is simply unacceptable. When we inquired about obtaining a baby bathtub, we were told that all of them were already in use and that we should have made a prior reservation. This response was incredibly frustrating because we had clearly stated during the booking process that we would be traveling with a one-year-old child. Given this information, we expected the hotel to ensure that necessary amenities for an infant would be available upon our arrival. It is unreasonable to expect guests to know that they need to make a separate reservation for something as essential as a baby bathtub.
Furthermore, we encountered another issue when we called the front desk to request chopsticks. The staff member on the other end of the line could not understand our request due to poor English skills. After several attempts and different ways of describing what we needed, they finally understood. The staff member assured us that the chopsticks would be brought to our room shortly, but despite waiting for the entire evening, they never arrived. This lack of follow-through on a simple request highlights a broader issue of service inconsistency and unreliability.
Lastly, our check-out process was problematic. The hotel has an automated check-out machine, which, in theory, should streamline the departure process. However, when we inserted our room card and attempted to complete the check-out, the machine malfunctioned. It froze mid-process and did not provide any confirmation of payment. This malfunction left us uncertain about whether our payment had been processed. We had to wait for a considerable amount of time before a staff member could assist us. The staff member was initially unsure how to resolve the issue, but after a lengthy wait, they managed to confirm our payment manually. This experience was both frustrating and time-consuming, undermining trust in the hotel's operational efficiency.
In conclusion, our stay at this hotel was marred by several significant issues, primarily stemming from poor communication and inadequate service. While the hotel has the potential to offer a pleasant experience, these fundamental flaws need to be addressed urgently. Until these improvements are made, I cannot recommend this hotel to other travelers, especially those with young children or those who rely on effective...
Read moreStunning location in Ginowan which is pretty centrally located on the island. Very new hotel, super clean, and very nice. Highly recommend the 14th floor Lounge. You get an open bar during the entire stay, and they have a pretty nice selection of healthy food and delicious treats all day and Into the later evening. The Onsen was basically empty the entire time and they have a really dope coed pool/ spa on the second floor with a warm indoor pool, cold pool, hot stone sauna, dry sauna, wet sauna, and get this… a chill room where snow literally is falling from the ceiling…. Which is nice when you are doing the hot/cold laps or coming inside from the warm tropical vibes outside. The first night we got there and the restaurant had a nice buffet of really good local fair as well as a menu to order. It’s only open until 9 though so you have to move quick if you came in on the afternoon flight and rented a car. The room was super clean…really nice beds that were very comfortable after a long travel to get there. Ocean view from the room is picture perfect. Shower and bathtub was really cool Japanese style soaking tub with Onsen style shower and a full on wet room which made for a great time. When you come to visit I recommend scheduling some activities like snorkeling, scuba diving, shopping, Onsen, and whatever else to it into. There is a cool drift scene with 2 tracks on the island and I heard there is a cool off-road culture too…. The American Village is a great place to go on the front end of your trip. Stop by the Volcanoe Ramen spot across from the parking lot on the south side of that area and if you dare, try the Volcanoe version of their ramen up to 1000 and get a pic on the wall as well as gift certificates. It’s legit burn you face off 🤯kinda hot. When they bring out the soup it almost has a pepper spray kinda vibe in the air. There is a really cool surf shop owned by a pro surfer that had nice sandals, cool clothes and spear fishing gear called Oceans Merchantile and we recommend you snorkel/scuba with Diasuke over at Okinawa 39ers. You can even get certified as well if needed. Make sure you stop at the Fish Mart in Naha and give yourself a day or even two to just relax in between...
