Jinya is a wonderful place. A beautiful relaxing Japanese onsen, perfect for relaxing and disappearing for a day or two. We stayed two nights and didn’t leave Jinya for our whole stay. We loved it.||||As you enter Jinya the world changes to a beautiful Japanese garden and traditional Japanese buildings spread over the forested hillside. You can easily imagine you are far away in a secluded place. Jinya is a beautiful place to walk around. The hallways have history displays such as samurai armour, weapons, etc…Our room was like a little Japanese house and had a terrace and a bath outside with natural onsen water. It was heaven to soak in this tub looking at the trees and enjoying the fresh air. Our room was beautiful and clean. It was Japanese style with tatami mats and futons for beds.||||The public baths were nice, but we preferred the one that belonged to our room. The outside public bath was very hot, too hot to relax in my opinion. The inside public bath was a great temperature but lacked the beautiful atmosphere of the outside baths.||||Dinner was fabulous, and breakfast was great. Jinya serves some of the very best Japanese meals I have had. You can eat in your room or the dining room. Unlike many Japanese hotels and onsens, Jinya serves lunch and has room service.||||Service at Jinya was very friendly. We have a 4-year old and she was treated very nicely by all the staff and other guests. There were a few children there however it was mostly couples. Jinya is able to take care of their foreign guests in English. WiFi was good in our room.||||Jinya is five minutes’ walk to the train station. The town around Jinya and the station, Tsurumakionsen, doesn’t...
Read moreMy three-night honeymoon stay at Jinya was nothing short of magical. Each morning and evening, we were treated to fine dining that were the most delicious foods I've ever tasted.
The warmth and hospitality of the staff at Jinya were heartwarming. Their attention to detail was remarkable – they remembered and incorporated the little things we mentioned, enhancing our stay immeasurably. Looking for a place to walk around, they lent us bicycles to visit a park that was hard to reach on foot. We really enjoyed it and were even able to see Mount Fuji from a distance.
An unforgettable touch was the celebratory message for our honeymoon delicately written on our dinner plate, a gesture that deeply moved us.
Both the private and public onsens were awesome. I loved walking around their beautiful garden and watching the cute koi fish.
Having high expectations for a Ryokan, Jinya not only met but exceeded them in every way, leaving us profoundly touched. Their efforts to communicate with us, despite language barriers, ensured a seamless and enjoyable experience for international guests.
I wholeheartedly recommend Jinya, deserving of far more than a mere 5-star rating. This is a place that will linger in my heart and memories.
P.S. Discovering that Hayao Miyazaki, the legendary animator, spent part of his childhood here added a layer of enchantment to our stay. Spotting a tree featured in 'My Neighbor Totoro' and seeing Miyazaki's signatures was a delightful bonus to our...
Read moreWe stayed two nights at the Jinya, and it was a great experience at a traditional Japanese Inn.||It is very conveniently located a few steps off of the Tsurimaki-onsen stop on the Odakuya line, however it is a remote town so there are no other food or entertainment options besides the relaxing (and pricey) Jinya.||||I was traveling with my friend who is a vegan, and since we gave them a heads up about her dietary needs before our arrival, they were very accommodating. The first night, we opted not to have the elaborate dinner that costs 12,000 yen per person and instead went a la carte for 5,000 yen per person. The meal was still a multi-course event and more than enough food. My friend’s vegan meal was fantastic as well. Breakfast was included in our stay, and this was also an elaborate, multi-course affair. The second breakfast I opted to have a vegan meal as well and it was one of the top meals I’ve had in Japan.||||The room we stayed in was very spacious and had a private in-room bathroom and onsen. Very, very relaxing after all of our busy travels through Japan. The staff spoke some English, but enough for us to communicate effectively. They were all very attentive and helpful.||||Overall, the Jinya was an incredible experience and I would highly recommend for anyone who is looking for a change of pace for a...
