ホテル湯の陣 — Hotel in Honshu

Worst service In Japan for my 3 day stay! This is my 12th visit to Japan and this hotel was by far the worst. You need to book the breakfast and dinner time slots and the hotel messed it up twice. If you want to play table tennis or do Karaoke you need to book at reception at 1pm. Who on earth is still at the hotel at 1pm to book these things? We were told we could not call at 1pm to book, we had to go there. All the ski resorts are at least 25 minutes away from this hotel, so it’s not like you can leave the ski field and go back at 1pm just to book. This meant we missed out on these things. There is not enough parking spaces for the guests. We were told to park across the bridge in the blistering snow, yet that car park was full too. The hotel is very dated, the toilet seat fell off and appeared to be broken and was disgustingly dirty. The staff are a mix of Japanese and overseas workers, the reception staff didn’t even crack a smile or acknowledge us …. Apart from when they were swiping our credit card taking our cash!! ||Do yourself a favour and pay more and go elsewhere. Looking at other reviews, it seems others have said the same thing. I have travelled to over 40 countries and this hotel was in my worst...

元は『おくとねグランドホテル湯の陣』。 伊東園ホテルズに買収されてから安価に泊まれるようになりました。

水上温泉郷の湯檜曽温泉街の北端にある周囲を山と川に囲まれた静かな宿です。

夏は涼しいので避暑に、冬は寒さが厳しいですが温泉が身体を温めてくれるので湯治にと年間を通じ静養に適した宿です。

また登山やスキーの拠点としても適した宿でもあります。

伊東園ホテルズの宿になってから『安かろう・悪かろう』とする評価も数多く目にしますが、コストカットを徹底した結果、それなりの施設を安価で利用出来るようになったと考えるのが妥当だと思います。

スタッフの皆さんが気さくで親切なのは『おくとねグランドホテル』時代と変わりません^ ^

館内は古さが目立つ場所もありますがよく手入れされており清掃も行き届いていて清潔で快適です。

客室のタイプは和室・洋室・和洋室とありますが『特別室』がお勧めです。

特別室は玄関・フロント・ロビーのある丸い建物に部屋が配置されています。

広くスペースを取った特別室は和室がベース。

広く・大きな窓からの山と川の眺めは開放感があります。

布団を3〜4枚敷いても余裕がある広さでゆったりと寛げます。3畳ほどの広さの独立した広縁はソファーセットが配置された洋間の様な雰囲気で、畳に飽きたらソファーに腰を下ろして気分を変えて寛ぐことが出来ます。

通常の宿泊料金にプラス1000〜2000円で泊まれる特別室はかなりコスパが良いと思います。

大浴場は広くて開放的な雰囲気です。清掃が行き届き清潔なのは言うまでもありません。浴室は強く換気されているので冬は少々寒いかも知れませんが脱衣所は床暖房が強めに効いていて暖かいです。お湯は柔らかな泉質の熱めの湯で疲れが取れます。

食事はバイキング形式。 伊東園ホテルズの宿ですから山海の珍味や名物料理の類はありませんが、贅沢を言わなければ充分に満足出来る内容です。連泊者がいる場合には料理を少しずつ入れ替えてくれているので飽きることはありません。また、春の料理フェア・天ぷらフェア・鍋物フェア などのイベントが入れ替えで定期的に行われるのでそれなりに楽しめます。この他に『別注料理』を注文するのも良いと思います。

館内の喫茶店やラーメン屋・居酒屋・スナックなどは伊東園ホテルズの運営に変わって全て閉鎖されリフレッシュコーナーやカラオケ・ゲーム・卓球コーナーに転用されています。

人里離れた静かな場所で温泉に浸かって酒を飲み、ゴロゴロしてゆっくり過ごす・仕事や読書に集中したいならコスパはかなり良いと思います。

ちなみに周囲にはコンビニや商店は全くありません。

館内の売店は土産物がメインで食品・雑貨類の取扱はありません。

一番近いお店は2kmほど下った大穴地区の『ヤマザキショップ阿部商店』まで行かなければなりません。

滞在中の間食・酒のつまみ、ウイスキーや日本酒などは予め購入してチェックインすることをお勧めします。

また、周囲には食堂・レストラン・カフェなども全くありません。連泊する際の昼食は各自で確保する必要があります。

他のホテルのような昼食の提供や近隣の飲食店からの出前の取次などはありません。

買物と同様に大穴地区の飲食店まで自身で行く必要があります。

2〜3泊滞在する場合は日持ちのする弁当やサンドイッチ、カップ麺やレトルト食品・冷凍の弁当などを持ち込むか滞在中日に大穴地区へ買物や食事に行くのが良いでしょう。

※ロビーに電子レンジが、各部屋には冷蔵庫と電気ケトルがあります。

※10時〜14時は清掃のため大浴場が使用できないのでこの時間帯に出かけるのが良いと思います。

買物や食事の外出には関越交通の路線バスが1時間に1本程度運行していて便利です。ホテルのすぐ前の停留所『ゆびそ温泉』から乗車して4つ目の『大穴変電所前』（ヤマザキショップの最寄り）または5つ目の『大穴町営住宅入口』（まつや食堂の最寄り）で下車するのが便利です（運賃320円 ICカード使用可）。

また、『モグラ駅』で有名な『土合駅』を見学に行くのも良いと思います。行き・帰りにバスと電車を上手く利用すれば不便さはあまり感じません。

このホテルへの公共交通機関でのアクセスはお世辞にも良いとは言えません。水上駅などからの送迎サービスもありません。

水上駅から湯檜曽駅へ向かう上越線の列車は1日5本しかありません（2023年3月現在 8:28 9:48 13:32 17:50...
