Hotel Chez Toi — Hotel in Kan-onji

An excellent stay during the walking pilgrimage. A decently priced hotel, well worth the price. Nicely fitted rooms which are clean and well maintained. To be honest, the beds duvet was super soft and fluffy, the linen alone was worthy of some 5 star hotels in terms of quality.

Location is decent with Hama sushi and a laundrette right next door. Theres also an excellent roast chicken shop around 5-10 minutes walk away. I'd advice walkers to consider visiting temples 68 and 69 before returning to this hotel to be in a better position for the next morning.

Reception staff were friendly and supportive, I felt welcome as soon as I entered the building.

Breakfast was probably best described as interesting. An odd selection of options of a slightly lacklustre fryup style of breakfast consisting of omelette, scrambled eggs, small sausages (probably closer to frankfurters but not quite) and chips (fries for those inclined). There was also udon noodles with options for either hot or cold broth. It's a standard business hotel breakfast affair, tastes decent and is a fair deal for the price so I'm not complaining, just worth mentioning what you'll get assuming they don't change...

Room was clean but amenities are kept to minimal. No tea bags/coffee provided and also had to ask reception for a kettle. There is no road sign of the hotel so I was confused when to turn into their car park. Not much choice of restaurants nearby. Reasonable driving time to attractions such as Konpira and...

新しいホテルということで期待して伺いました。私は気にならなかったのですが、妻は新築特有のニオイかと思いますが、これがかなり気になったようです。

カードキーも1枚か2枚選べるのも良いのですが、部屋に入ってすぐのカード差込口からカードを抜いてしまうと、すべての電源が切れてしまうようですので、空気清浄機だけでも作動させておきたい場合は、カードが2枚必要です。

駐車場が広く停めやすいのはいいですね。また、周囲には食事どころが多いので便利だと思います。食事はついていないかと思いましたが、バイキング形式の朝食つきで簡単な食事ができたのは良かったです。

【追記】

2024年1月6日に一人ツーリングで一泊しました。前日にネット予約したのですが、近隣のホテルが喫煙部屋しか空きがなく、2年半前に宿泊したこちらを予約しました。新しいホテルで安心感があったのです。

前回は総合評価☆4ケ、客室☆4ケとしましたが、今回は出発前にスタッフさんからどちらへと声をかけられたことで総合☆5ケとしました。チェックインの時にスタッフさんのチョッピリ不愛想な感じが気になったのですが、チェックアウト時のこの声掛けでぐっと印象アップです。

また昨夜は前のうどん店の閉店が早かったのか、うどんを食べそびれてしまいましたが、朝食にミニうどんがあり、これを食べたことでポイントアップです。

歩いて10分ほどで骨付鳥じゅじゅ庵もあり、反対側ですが5分ほどでセブンイレブンがありますので、好立地かと思います。唯一の難点が、洗面台やシャワーのお湯が出るまで1分少々のタイムラグがある点です、この改善は難しいと思いますが、冬季にはすぐに温まりたく、対策してい...
