I had my first ryokan stay with Hyakurakuso. I couldn’t believe that they picked us up from the train station and how courteous the shuttle driver was. After about 30 min we reached the resort and the hotel staff greeted us to welcome us and take our luggage. ||I wasn’t very familiar with all of the customs and while I felt a little bit awkward at times, the hotel staff was on point and worked hard to make sure that we knew exactly what to do. ||It is important to schedule baths, dinner time and shuttle pick drop offs and pick ups with the hotel staff. I would recommend bathing before dinner and after breakfast, but you can do it however you wish. Don’t be surprised if the bed isn’t put out when you arrive, the hotel staff will arrange everything for you while you eat. ||The food is completely off the charts good. I can’t say enough about the dishes. Make sure you splurge a little and go for the crab. It should be one of the main reasons you’re in Kanazawa anyway. ||All in all it was an amazing experience and the staff could not have been better. Make sure to trust them to help you get things right and don’t be afraid to ask question. |||Thank you so much to the...

My wife and I have stayed at Hyakurakuso Noto a few times in the past, and have always enjoyed an excellent room, baths, and food. Hyakurakuso Yuwaku is nice, but clearly a step or two down from its sister in Noto. ||||The room was much smaller, but the price was not much smaller! The private hot spring bath was nice, but it was not a rotenburo at all. While spacious, the bath only had a window which could be opened to the outside. The futon bedding was nice, but the staff forgot to set it up! We needed to call and request the futon to be set.||||Food was good, but not nearly of the quality of its sister in Noto. We do like the idea of the meals being served in a private room, away from the sleeping area.||||Yuwaku Onsen is a pretty place, but unless your are very interested in Japanese agricultural structures from a century ago, you might want to keep your visit to...

Highly recommend! My friend and I stayed here because we wanted to experience a ryokan, and this one blew our expectations out of the water. From beginning to end, everyone we encountered was incredibly hospitable and friendly. Before our stay, I received an email with instructions and images on how to locate the shuttle that would take us to Hyakurakusou, which was super helpful. Once we arrived at the ryokan, we were greeted by Chika, who spoke basic English and was very sweet and welcoming. She gave us a thorough description of the facilities and led us to our room. The meals were delicious and filling; by the end, I was full but not...

Superb service, room was huge, and food was excellent especially dinner. The dinner was all seasonal ingredients with beautiful decor. The Japanese breakfast selection was also very nice and healthy. Our booking came with afternoon tea. You also have a choice of one private bath time booking (an outdoor bath) not just the public area bath time which has one indoor and an outdoor pool for men and women open until midnight - not too big an area. There’s also a game room for you to relax and have fun, free snacks, coffee, and drinks. The value is totally worth it. One thing though is to skip the massage.

Staying at Hyakurakusou was a highlight of our first trip to Japan and a delightful stopover between Tokyo and Kyoto. We desired to experience a ryokan and were blown away by the hospitality and luxurious details of the room and serene view. We booked a private onsen and had an in room massage (booked upon arrival). Staff spoke sufficient English. We opted out of the meal services (except for ordering the wine and cake (delicious!)) because we are non seafood eaters unfortunately. The shuttle process to and from Kanazawa station was a breeze thanks to clear communication.

Recently stayed for two nights at this ryokan, and the standout feature was undoubtedly the exceptional staff and service. They were incredibly helpful and attentive, making my experience truly enjoyable. The kaiseki and breakfast offerings were visually stunning and plentiful, though the overall food quality could use some improvement. The rooms were beautifully decorated and impressively soundproof, providing a serene atmosphere for relaxation.
