Our stay at Takitei was an unexpected delight! It is located in a magical, rural setting just outside of a residential area on the outskirts of Kanazawa. Our experience was wonderful from the minute we drove up to the ryokan. We were greeted by two friendly, welcoming staff as we drove up the long driveway to the hotel. The check-in was easy, and they upgraded our room to a suite for no extra charge. The rooms were both western and Japanese style - very clean and well provisioned. A balcony overlooked a small stream stocked with koi - the hotel even provided a small bag of koi food! The koi quickly swam over when we went onto the deck! The food was terrific, and we had our own table at both meals, with a dedicated waitress who explained what the dishes were. The hot spring bath was heavenly - very clean and relaxing. Definitely the most comfortable place and best deal for the cost during our 3 week stay in Japan. We hope to visit there again soon. Highly...

A comforting & sweet ryokan on the outskirts of beautiful Kanazawa. We were here last month from Hawaii and was so charmed by the quietness, lovely decor and courteous staff. The allowance of privacy and personal enjoyment was delivered smoothly, meals were delicious but best of all, was their outside onsen beside a soothing waterfall. An evening stroll to a quiet nearby temple would've been nice but the facility does allow you to walk around the property or spend time in their libraries & lounge. Our meal hostess was very gracious. It's a definite return on our next visit back to Kanazawa.

Our stay at Takitei was an absolutely extraordinary experience from top to bottom. My husband and I celebrated our honeymoon (and his birthday) here. It is by far the most wonderful ryokan we have ever experienced. The service was gracious and attentive. The property and rooms were stunningly beautiful, well-designed, and immaculate with thoughtful touches everywhere. The energy of the space is tranquil and easeful. The lounges and library were so beautiful and unique. The staff went out of their way to help us celebrate. We look forward to returning!

Wow what an experience! We were staying in Kanazawa and wanted to check out an onsen and this one was so great. It was an easy 25 minute taxi drive from Kanazawa Station. Onsen was ¥6,100 for 5 people. Onsen had an incredible outdoor bath with views of a waterfall as well as an indoor bath that doubled as a sauna. Note: They do not have a restaurant here just a small gift shop. You do not need a reservation and they were very accommodating!
