I've been to many baseball games throughout my life, but never have I had as much fun than at Es Con Field! If you think MLB games in the US are fun, you absolutely need to experience a game here. The Nippon Ham Fighters have a loyal fan base, who cheer loud and are incredibly welcoming! The employees in the fan shops and food stands are very helpful despite a slight communication barrier (as I do know some Japanese.) My boyfriend and I ended up going to a full series against the Hiroshima Carps because we had so much fun at the games. We planned on only going to the first game in the series and got seats in the cheering section. Since I'm familiar with a bit of the language and can read it pretty decently, I was able to participate in the cheering and it was so much fun! The fans around us high fived us when they scored like we were locals too. They welcomed us right in! These baseball fans really are what made me start to fall in love with Sapporo and it's people, as this was one of the first things we did when we arrived. I can't wait to come back again some day and I'll certainly be keeping an eye on the Fighters even back home in the US....

After work in the Village, I joined the stadium tour .

I was surprised to find out that you can go in and out of some of the spectator seating areas for free . I don't think other stadiums are open to the public to this extent , so I felt the depth of NIHAM's nostalgia.

I felt the following points about the world view. (1) Overwhelming sense of entertainment (2) Sophisticated facilities that don't feel like sports (3) Athleticism that doesn't stop at just baseball

Although there are differences in the individual experiences, I felt that I had a full sense of the future that Japanese professional baseball should portray.

The stadium tour is expensive at 3,500 yen. When you visit ESCON, even if you are a fan of another team, you should definitely join the tour and...

My boss got some tickets for the Fighters vs Buffaloes game on a Wednesday night and he invited me to join him. There is a huge parking area, but parking is through reservation only. Or else you can take the busses from most of the major train stations. There was a huge crowd and the atmosphere was great. You are not allowed to bring any food or drinks (even water) into the stadium. They do a bag check at the entrance. The floors are filled with food outlets and you will see girls going around the seats selling beer and soft drinks throughout the game. The game lasted for around 3 hours and the whole...
