I stayed at the resort for 2 nights in late October 2024.
A clean and well-maintained resort.
The resort provides free transportation to and from Komagane Bus Terminal/JR Station, a service that is very much appreciated. Do email/inform them the day before for the arrangement.
While the staff may not speak fluent english, google translate was good enough to converse smoothly. The reception and restaurant staff were polite and keen to help, excellent service from them.
The resort is around 5 mins walk from Suganodai Bus Centre, where you can purchase round trip ropeway and bus tickets to Senjojiki Cirque. The prices vary each day, you can check on their website for the pricing.
Breakfast buffet was decent. I had their dinner buffet as well, which comes at an additional cost of 6200yen. The food and spread was good.
The room was clean and comfortable. One negative point would be, as my room is next to the lift, it gets noisy in the morning and evening, maybe some soundproofing can be put in place. And the room door does not lock automatically when it’s closed, so you would have to insert the key and lock it the old-fashioned way whenever you leave the room.
Overall, I had a good stay at the resort and would recommend to anyone wanting to...

Negatives: Rooms could be cleaner Facilities are a bit dated Uncomfortable beds Booked double-bed, but got two single beds
Overall, I had a mixed experience at Hotel Resort Lynx. The hotel is located in a beautiful setting, and the staff is friendly and helpful. The rooms are large, and the food is good. However, the rooms could be cleaner, and the facilities are a bit dated. The hotel is also located in a remote area, so there is not much to do outside of the hotel. Which can be a good thing. There is a nice park outside and the bus station to the ropeway is only 5 minutes away.
Here are some additional thoughts about Hotel Resort Lynx:
The hotel is popular with Japanese tourists, so it can be crowded during peak season. The hotel offers a variety of activities, such as hiking, biking, and fishing. The hotel is close to a number of ski resorts, so it is a good option for winter sports enthusiasts. Overall, I would recommend Hotel Resort Lynx to travelers who are looking for a relaxing getaway in a...
Read moreKomagane isn't quite on the usual non-Japanese tourist radar. We were here for one night because it was a convenient pitstop between Tsumago (on the Nakasendo Trail) and Matsumoto, where we were headed to next.||||Having said that, between our broken Japanese and the front desk's serviceable English we managed to make ourselves understood enough that they could help us make reservations for later in the trip.||||The establishment isn't that big, perhaps 40 rooms or so. It has all the usual Japanese resort accoutrements, like a hotspring bath, buffet restaurant, gift shop, laundromat et al. All in all the facilities were pretty good.||||Unfortunately, our room was in a state of disrepair. The sofa was sagging and there was no closet, just a fixture on the wall with four coat hangers. The bathroom was tiny. Be warned: the room is obviously not designed for international travellers with large bags.||||Breakfast was delicious. The pork curry, a specialty of the area, is particularly worth the calories. We bought some of it back from the gift shop...
