Ruriiro Hills Awaji — Hotel in Minamiawaji

This was my first time trying Glamping, and while the Google reviews were promising, I feel some of the inconveniences are quite underrated.

To start, each unit for two guests is given a single set of keys—one for the outhouse (which includes the dining and bathroom area), and another for the main dome (bedroom/living space). During my spring visit, the temperature was around 13°C, and with seven domes on site, having to lock and unlock doors in the cold just to use the bathroom wasn't ideal. A keycard or PIN code system would have made things much more convenient.

Now imagine needing the bathroom in the middle of the night, dressed in the provided pajamas, walking across to the outhouse in near-total darkness. The path is visible to other guests, and I found the outdoor lighting insufficient—so much so that I struggled to even find the keyhole.

During daylight, the views were great, and the room itself looked lovely. However, after settling in, we noticed a strong plastic-like smell—likely from the materials used to build the dome. It was quite unpleasant, and I’m surprised no one has mentioned this in other reviews. Thankfully, we had Tiger Balm with us, which helped with the breathing discomfort. I honestly found myself wondering before bed whether I’d wake up feeling okay—it really did feel a bit toxic. (Pro tip: bring Tiger Balm or something similar if you plan to visit.)

The dining room was nice and had a good view—great if you want to do some work. The bathroom, however, is a bit cramped, especially when drying off with a towel (and I’m petite).

There’s literary nothing (except 2 vending machines if you really need, near the reception) within walking distance of the site. Free parking is available, but you’ll need to drive out if you want to dine elsewhere.

The lounge chairs facing the sea were a highlight—perfect for sunbathing—though a small side table would have been a nice touch.

南あわじ市にある最近できたグランピングに ごはん付きで宿泊利用。

グランピングドームはめちゃくちゃ綺麗で 広々としている。

夜ごはんは女子2人じゃ食べきれないくらいの 量があった。 全体通して質が良く、美味しかった。

ただ、サウナに16時頃入った時は 65度しかなかった。 隙間風もめちゃくちゃ入ってさむい。 温度があまりに低すぎてスタッフの人に 尋ねるも中で人が倒れないようにと。 ほんまかな？と思うくらいの低い温度やったけど 夜20時に入り直した時は75度あった。 多分掃除かなんかでスイッチ遅かったんやと 思われる。 チェックイン15時からって書いてるから 15時には万全にしてほしいな〜と思った。 そして、セルフでロウリュウできる 桶がサウナの中にあったけど その水にゴミも入ってたし少しきたなかった。

あとはHPにはサ飯の素麺とか 書いてたから受付にきいたけど なかった。 ポカリとオロナミンCのドリンクしか 案内されへんかった。 朝ごはんもベーグル2種類書いてたから ひとり2種類かと思いきや、 2人で泊まって、ベーグル2個、一種類ずつ。 夜ご飯でカトラリー使ったけど ベーグル挟もうとした時に切り込みないから カトラリーゆすぐしかない。 シャワー室🚿もちょっと手狭。 子供とかとは一緒に入れられへん狭さ。 あとWi-Fiのパスワードとか 部屋にあるんかなと思いきやなくて わざわざ聞かないと教えてくれないし フリーのポカリの場所とかも こっちからあるってみたって言わないと 説明なかったし、 ゴミ箱も2個設置してるけど、 テープとか貼ってないからどっちが 何ゴミとかわからなかった。 全体を通して利用方法の説明が少なかった。

主人と2人でサウナ付きのテントを利用しました。食事はコンロをレンタルして持ち込み。コンロも火力が強くて使いやすかったです。 大雨で生憎の天気でしたが、「本当に素敵なところに泊まれたね」の連続でした。（テントに落ちる雨の音も雫を眺めるのも最高！） お部屋も広々！素敵なインテリア、延長コードもたくさん置いてくださり便利でした。サウナも自分のペースで楽しめたし、サウナの窓から海を見ることができて素敵でした。

チェックインしてからの説明も時間を取られず、チェックアウトもカゴに鍵を返すだけ。「これで大丈夫？」と思うくらいあっさりしていましたが笑。それも信頼されているようで良いな！と思いました。

テントの横にトイレ、シャワー、食事スペースがある建物があり、雨の中でもゆっくり食事を楽しめました。そしてテントではゆっくり過ごすだけ✨️この使い分けも非日常をしっかり楽しむことができて良かったです。

隣の声が心配でしたが、わりと距離もあったのと雨の音でなのか？静かで快適でした。
