Amazing structure—elegant and truly high-end. Every detail in the room, spa area, and throughout the property is thoughtfully designed, reflecting deep expertise. The staff went out of their way to make our honeymoon special, from offering a late check-out to arranging a villa in a prime location. Another example on how the staff went beyond expectations is when they setup a Dazn account only for in order to let me watch F1 which was not visible on the channels available on the tv - that was truly impressive service level! 😍
There’s also a variety of activities available, from yoga classes to bike rentals to SUP—fun to enjoy even with less-than-perfect weather. The food overall has been great, especially the Italian restaurant and breakfast, even if the à la carte breakfast menu could be structured more clearly.
That said, a few areas could be improved:
Food experience – While the quality was good, the overall offering feels limited in both variety and concept: • It was hard to find a healthy, low-carb, high-protein lunch option. Salads or lighter bites were noticeably missing. • The choices are restricted to an Italian restaurant (lunch and dinner) and a fish restaurant (Mas, dinner only). • The Mas experience, which seems positioned as the flagship, felt underwhelming. The menu was limited, and the setting lacked atmosphere—we were the only guests, and staff were visibly refilling soy sauce from plastic bottles in front of us.
Staff – The team is genuinely warm, friendly, and welcoming—interacting with them has been a pleasure throughout. A couple of points to note: • The spa and gym were not always well-maintained; on several occasions, we found used towels and glasses left around, which may suggest understaffing. • English proficiency across the staff is quite low for an international high-end resort. Possibly as a result, there was no clear explanation of the available facilities at check-in—activities like yoga classes, SUP, or bike rentals were left for us to discover on our own.
We’re checking out today, and overall it’s been a lovely stay—with just a few small touches, it could become truly...
Read moreINITIAL OPINION We are a little less than halfway through our stay. The place is very beautiful. The operation... So far too many problems, I suppose related to the difficulty of starting a hotel of this level. But... for now I feel that what I have paid is very excessive if I compare it to what I receive: very unimaginable deficiencies in a luxury hotel. I will wait until the end of my stay to make a definitive review. Right now, I am not receiving the expected quality of service.
FINAL OPINION We have finished our 4-night stay at the Rosewood Resort in Miyakojima. As I said, the place is idyllic, the villas are beautiful and of high quality and the architecture is sustainable with good landscape integration. It will be a great tourist destination. After the problems we had (see initial review) the staff has made an effort to make our stay unforgettable. I thank you. They have not charged us the additional costs for the room with breakfast package: lunches, dinners, consumptions... I mention this exclusively, because it is proof that they have become aware that this hotel that is just starting to walk (opened on March 1) has the logical problems of the beginning. I would have preferred to pay everything and receive the service that, without a doubt, they will not take long to provide. My feeling is that there is a lack of staff and what there is is divided into two: some, first-class professionals and others, young people who are visibly inexperienced in the field of hotel service, some of whom do not speak English. I think it would have been more correct to make an opening with prices that are typical of the track process in progress. Either that, or offer efficient, fast and very high-level service from minute zero. In my opinion, it is discrediting to charge for a service that does not yet correspond to what the client receives. It will be resolved. Sure. There are excellent professionals, like the Argentines Juan or Mauricio who will train their apprentice colleagues well. And it will be a fantastic destination. In any case, thank you for the effort and for accepting the comment...
Read moreEverything here was 5 stars. We booked one of the three houses and it was huge. Well appointed with 2 bedrooms, a huge kitchen and living area and large outdoor area with lounges, BBQ area and pool.||Housekeeping topped up essentials like eggs, bread, coffee and bowls of freshly prepared fruit every day.||They also provided daily treats like champagne, chocolates, etc.||Our 3 kids (11, 9 and 4) loved the kids club while my wife and I were at the incredible on-site gym.||The restaurants on the property were both amazing. We loved the Italian restaurant, especially the pasta and steak. The seafood restaurant was very authentic and the salmon sashimi dishes were the highlight.||We sat at the counter of the seafood restaurant and watched the chef prepare our dishes fresh. He even let my oldest daughter come behind the counter and showed her how to spice the salmon. That experience made her entire trip.||Our butler Jonathan was a rock star. Available via WhatsApp seemingly 24x7. He picked us up from the airport, took us to dinners, recommended off site restaurants and much much more. He even gave our son a birthday present - a Mario Kart figurine from his personal collection.||Thank you for everything, Jonathan. You will go very very far in the hospitality world!||Overall this property was magnificent in every single way possible. I’m so glad we took the chance to fly from Hong Kong to Miyakojima to stay at Rosewood.||This is one of the best hotels we’ve ever stayed at anywhere in the world - and we’ve stayed at a LOT of amazing hotels...
