These pics are real. The bathroom (in the room) is very terrible (those public ones in the rest area are even better!). It is also smelly. The public onsen in the hotel is quite small and old but ok to use. If you want to stay in the room like the one being shown on google pictures, you may need to reserve their big room only. Inside the room was quite hot and the heater was already off. I called the staff for some help and a few minutes later they brought me a fan. The hotel had a sign saying not to open the window to prevent the insect get into the room. It was quite hard to stay in the room that I paid for over 200USD a night. In conclusion: you should stay in other hotels And the one thing I like is internet Wi-Fi is good.

One of the best hotels we have stayed at. The service was the best we have had in me and my wifes 16 years traveling together. Was surprised at the station by a shuttle waiting for us. I had opted in for the dinner and breakfast but boy were we surprised by the quality and assortment of dishes they prepared. We didnt want to leave. Onsen is usually quiet and empty after 9pm. My only complaint, and not really a complaint, is that there is only one train station and the train runs about every 2 hours. So plan accordingly. Other than that its a wonderful location away from the hussle and bustle of the city. Will return again.

This huge onsen hotel is patronised by current and previous Japanese Emperors when they were still crown prince. Located is a somewhat forgotten onsen town. Interior is dated but well-maintained. Room is very nice overlooking a stream. My room rate is approximately JPY10,500, including breakfast, which is surprisingly very good, using premium ingredients. At breakfast, they served two types of local rices and Yamagata curry beef stew - YUMMY! Around 35 mins drive from famous Ginzan Onsen Town. Highly recommended to stay in this hotel if you visit Ginzan Onsen.

This hotel is a bit far from station but i got the very memorable experience here. I arrived quite late and it was dark and raining that time but hotel staff come and pick us up even it's an urgent request which makes me impressed.

Though the room is a bit outdated but it maintain well. They provide the snack and tea in the room which is very delicious and cold water is also provided. I went to onsen in the morning and the one outside is so nice. I booked the cheapest option but still can see the mountain with some red leave. I recommend you to book the room with river view if you have budget. You can also wake up early in the morning and walk through the road near the hotel, it's also a nice experience.

Ensure you book the room with dinner option because it was so delicious with an excellent service. Breakfast also have various of option as well (make sure you try their special menu!)

Lastly, i recommend you come stay here as it's a very good deal espcially if you have a car but if you don't have one, they have pick up service timetable once a day if i remember correctly, so please...

Rooms and the amenities: hotel and the rooms are outdated and this hotel definitely needs some renovation. They are busy renovating the onsen so that’s a good start. Men and women had to visit the one onsen that was still functioning at alternative times. Please note that some rooms only have futons and no western-style beds. We had a “river view” room, but there was no river in sight. Only an empty dirty swimming pool.

Service: the staff is exceptionally professional, friendly and helpful. I have an allergy and they took this very seriously. I was impressed.

Food: we had kaiseki dinner for both nights and it was simply amazing. You will definitely be full and try diverse traditional dishes made with high quality ingredients. Please note there is only one (sushi) restaurant in this tiny town.

Location: you definitely need a car to move around. There is not much to do or see in...

If you book this hotel you will be in the nowhere. Please don't take this the wrong way, I've been traveling around Japan for a month, but this area has been my favorite so far. The onsen are excellent, and if you have the chance to book a room with your own onsen, please take it, you won't regret it. The hotel itself is a bit outdated, but the rooms are very well maintained, clean and very spacious. The breakfast and dinner were excellent and very varied. What I liked most was the courteous and very helpful staff, who read almost every wish from your lips. There were a few difficulties with the language as I don't speak Japanese and the staff don't speak English that well, but with today's technology it wasn't a problem at all.

My heartfelt thanks to the staff, they made my stay unforgettable and I hope I can book this hotel again. Thank...
