This is an older hotel for all those who might rather be looking for "upscale accommodations". The place sits in a great location... the view is very nice. The staff are quite laid back... almost too laid back... but they will help you with your bags to your room. The beach is nice, but there is not a lot to see underwater… unless you decide to venture out past the nets (we saw some beautiful fish while snorkeling out a ways). Lots of water sports opportunities, if you're willing to part with a few thousand yen extra. We got lucky and were placed in one of the "cottages" (highly recommended if you like your privacy). Dinner BBQ on the patio was good (just don’t let the employees / waiters dictate the music selection). We happened to be at the patio the first day, during lunchtime, and they chose to play Japanese Punk Rock the whole time. We said to each other, "I hope they don't play that music during dinner... it’s not very relaxing." Well, when we first got to the dinner BBQ there was some great Okinawan music playing. Before we knew it, they decided to switch it up to "their favorites".... Green Day style Japanese Punk Rock. After about 20 minutes, I made the decision to politely ask them to "Stop the Green Day", and go back to Okinawan music. They changed the music for us. After that the mood was much more relaxed, with a great view during sunset. The following morning’s breakfast buffet was actually satisfying to us both. It wasn't what some might consider "high-class", but there were many great selections to choose from. We left the restaurant with quite the full bellies... much better than a standard continental breakfast would've provided. We followed the morning stuffing with a nice, hour long swim at high tide, giving us plenty of time to shower and check out at 11 am. Overall, I would recommend this hotel to my friends. One more thing I almost forgot to mention, this is a pet-friendly hotel. You can bring your dog and stay...
Read moreHad a cottage room. The place is old but clean. Considering the location do not expect to avoid insects inside the room, and an occasional lizard (the lil girl lived with us throughout the whole stay). Aside from being old the place is great! It is very remote and unless you have a car it might be inconvenient if you want to go around, though there are some buses. The breakfast was Ok, it was basically the same thing every day and we even decided to skip it a few times. The hotel is family oriented and pet friendly. There are some interesting places to visit nearby e.g. The Churaumi Aquarium, the Pineapple Land, Castle Ruins and an island really close (really recommend to visit) etc. However, again, might be inconvenient without a car. The only bad thing is that the pool (and the beach, but you wouldn't want to go in in the dark anyway) closes at 7pm!
Good points: right next to the beach, pool, remote location with some sightseeing spots in the area if you have a car, spacious rooms, water activities available, low price. Bad points: pool closes at 7pm, everything is pretty old, breakfast is Ok'ish.
All in all, if you don't mind being in the middle of nowhere and having a bunch holes in the curtains, you'll...
Read moreNot many hotels to choose from around the region. We stayed one night at this resort and totally enjoyed the experience. It’s at a remote location but not hard to find for self-driving visitors. A spacious car park right opposite to the hotel. The whole property is bit run down, nothing up market or showy; but clean and quiet. Two people worked at the front desk were friendly and efficient. We stayed at an ocean view room at top floor. Enjoyed the view even it was raining. The room is old, but very spacious. Internet didn’t work all the time. We had dinner at L2’s restaurant, simple Japanese set menu to choose from; but food was delicious and really enjoyed the sea view with cold local beer. Had breakfast there the morning afternoon, very simple with hot coffee or tea. We had a relaxing night stay at this place and enjoyed the not touristy atmosphere. Overall, it’s a good choice if someone is looking for peace and quiet at...
