Stayed 2 nights on Superior Twin room. I am a big fan of Kyoritsu Resort and stayed many resorts, this is among one of the best.||||1. Location:||It's walking distance from Onsen town. But Shiobara onsen does NOT have much of attractions other than hiking. If you are good with hiking (like us), you'd enjoy beautiful hike in the woods and walk by the gorge. If you don't have a car, hotel has shuttle bus from Nasu Nishinohara station. If you have a car, much more convenient and only one hour drive to Nikko. Parking is 1.4km away from the hotel property and you need to call hotel ahead of time if you arrive early. There's parking attendant is there around check in time (3pm). There's nobody at parking lot other than check in time you need to call them to pick you up. ||||Hotel is located on very steep lot. Entry area is just for handycap and drop off luggage then take tram car down to the hotel building.||||2. Service||Excellent! Staff was very friendly and very helpful. ||||3. Room: ||Room was facing mountain and can enjoy unobstructed views of beautiful mountain. There was a chair sets and outdoor bathtub on balcony. There's also small shower stall, separate toilet and vanity area. Room was very spacious and lots of closet space. Has make-up area, TV area and wet bar area, with lots of stock of drinks and hand-grinding coffee maker||||4. Bath||There was 3 private baths and large public bath. They are all brand new and beutiful.||||5. Food||Breakfast and Dinner was included. Dinner was very beautiful Kaiseki. ||||Other than inconvenience for parking location, service/room/food/bath was excellent and I'd rank one of the best Ryokan Ive ever stayed. Hopefully to come back again soon, or go to another...

Read moreStayed in the 4 person room with my family. The room, onsen, location, almost everything here were excellent and worth the premium price we paid. The only reason I gave it 3 stars was because a certain situation had left me with a bad taste in my mouth.
I lost my sweater on the first day in the restaurant and I was pretty sure about that. But the next day when I asked the reception, they check and told me nothing was reported. When I went back and asked again the guy there tell me in a serious tone that there’s nothing and will contact me if they find something.
It was my favorite sweater so I went out that day trying to think where did I lost it all day. How did my sweater gone without a trace in a 5-star hotel in Japan of all places. When I came back that night, nothing was reported.
The next day when I check out after trying to find it in my room again and again, the woman who I asked about my sweater yesterday then went and bring out the sweater that I lost without mentioning anything. I had to even ask where they found it, and they said reluctantly that maybe in the restaurant.
Idk what happen with their communication but in the end they took a day and a half to find my sweater in the place I even mentioned first hand, and didn’t care to contact me when they found it. If this is a cheap business hotel I’d be fine with it, but this is a premium hotel so I feel the need to...
