I visited and stayed two days at this ryokan to refresh from Utsunomiya. I enjoyed the quiet and relaxing atmosphere. This hotel is situated on the edge of Kinugawa Onsen area. It is 40 minutes away Nikko, the World heritage site. The room was clean and spacious. The view was wonderful. The mist from the surrounding mountains changed into fog on the green rice field accross the Kinugawa (Kinu river) in the morning. All Japanese would feel a sense of nostalgia. When they stay at Kinugawa Onsen area, if you stay in a hotel between Kinugawa Onsen station and Kinugawa Kouen station, you can see the errupt remains of once busy hotels through the windows...

It’s a good value for money Ryokan to experience a traditional Japanese inn if you’re traveling to Nikko. We loved how spacious our room was, the balcony with a view to the river and the mountains, the bathroom was spotless (and they gave us complementary skin care samples and hygiene essentials), but the best thing of all was definitely the private onsen and the multi taster course dinner and breakfast!
