Kyukamura Omihachiman Camping Ground — Hotel in Omihachiman

Pretty nice place. No much help in English, so you might need a little Japanese to get by. Is a campsite that has pre set up tents for rent, and limited space for people to set up their own. The pre set up tents are on wooden platforms that have spaces between the boards, so when you enter you might need clear out any critters that have come in like spiders and geckos. Pretty uncomfortable to sleep on too. Booking is essential so call ahead. Have a beer vending machine available 24/7 The vending machines for water and soft drinks tended to be mostly sold out in summer, so bring your own for the night time. During the day cold drinks can be purchased from the main office. Also at the hotel in front of the campsite they have vending machines. Seemed to be a buffet restaurant in there too. Nice and quiet campground, with wooden platforms used as the actual campsite-bases. Thus pegs become useless best to bring open eyed-screws or anchors to fit between the platform boards. 自転車移動でのソロキャンプで利用させていただきました。

良かった点 ・湖岸道路、さざなみ街道沿いにある為道のりがわかりやすく、起伏も少ない為自転車でのアクセスが容易でした。 ・周囲が琵琶湖に囲まれてる立地で、キャンプサイトからの眺めがとても良かったです。 ・併設されているホテルの売店やお風呂（緊急事態宣言中は利用できず）などの施設が充実しており、キャンプ場内にもお酒やアイス・氷にお菓子・薪などが販売されていて便利でした。 ・休暇村の施設以外にも、そう遠くない距離にカフェや温泉施設、農産物直売所にコンビニもあります。 ・場内には空き缶・ペットボトル・燃えるゴミの各種ゴミ捨て場があります。炊事場には灰捨て場もあり、サイト内はウッドデッキのため直火はできないものの焚き火台やコンロを使ってのBBQも楽しめます。

気になった点 ・キャンプ場受付までは舗装された道でアクセスしやすいのですが、受付からサイトまでの道のりがかなり急勾配になっており　特に奥の方に立地になるとほとんど獣道のような坂を登らなければいけません。車からの荷物の積み下ろし用にリヤカーの貸し出しサービスがありますが、最終的には自力で荷物を担いで行く必要があります。 特に夜間、トイレなどで移動する際は足元に注意してください。 ・ウッドデッキの上にテントを張る仕様ですが、けっこうぶ厚めのデッキなので一般的なウッドデッキ用のペグは大きさが合わず使えませんでした…。手持ちの道具（ロープとカラビナ）でなんとか対応できましたが、次回からはもっと長めのデッキ用ペグを用意しようと思います。 ただ、ウッドデッキのおかげで夜間雨が降っても地面が浸水することなく一晩無事に過ごすことができました。

総合すると、サイトの立地やウッドデッキの造りが独特で荷物の運搬や設営は少し工夫が必要ですが、不便な一方で展望の良さと雨天の安心感という点では確かなメリットを感じることができます。 観光地らしく周辺施設も充実しており、備品の貸し出しも豊富なので初心...
