The hotel staff wasn't helpful. I arrived hotel at 5 pm and was told my buffet dinner was 7 or 7:30pm only. I told the staff that I came here is for the ice festival and asked possibly to have the earliest dinner time like 6 or 6:30pm ( since the hotel dinner time is from 6 to 9 pm and the shuttle bus provided by the hotel to that festival is 7:20 or 7:50). U know the hotel staff said can't change the earlier time that made me sooooo disappointed!!! So I walked to the dinner venue and "beg" the staff please let me have dinner earlier around 6:30 so that I can catch the shuttle bus to the festival. Also, the hotel room was so small and very hot, I saw most guests have to open the room door to let the air in. Finally, the hotel instruction was unclear. I asked couples time should I make the reservation for the bus to JR station, staff just said no no and never tell me that is the public bus instead of hotel shuttle bus. So on that day I waited for the bus in the lobby area, u know the public bus wasn't stopped in front of the hotel, that was just outside the bus stop, then finally I missed the bus!!!!! I have to take the taxi there which cost 3000 yen!!!!!! The hotel staff was not helpful and made me very very disappointed. I won't recommend this to...
Read moreWe were able to feel comfortable and relaxed there. It was filled with traditional Japanese rooms, cuisine, and hot springs. The accommodation cost of about 100 euros per person, including breakfast and dinner, was very satisfying.
The hot springs have a very unique water quality derived from plants, which made our skin smooth and silky.
The meals were buffet-style, and we were able to choose from seafood, meat, and vegetables and enjoy the typical Japanese way of eating. The seafood bowl was very popular, but I especially liked the steak, tempura, and curry rice that were only available for dinner.
For breakfast, traditional Japanese dishes popular among Japanese people were the main course. I was satisfied with the tamago kake gohan (TKG). The restaurant was full, but there were no foreign travelers. It is a place where foreigners can experience popular travel styles among Japanese people. If you want to meet something truly Japanese, not a place overflowing with foreign tourists (where you may wonder if this is Japan), I think this hotel and region are highly...
