Aquaholic Iritahama — Hotel in Shimoda

Our 45th wedding anniversary was wonderful staying here for 2 nights. Walking in the front door, the beautiful blues matched the ocean and the view promised relaxation. 2nd Floor: Each family had separate, large bedrooms (with comfy beds). A restroom with a skylight. Safety box. ||||But downstairs is about easy living. The outdoor jacuzzi bath was wonderful (no roof overhead) Two different eating areas (indoors/outdoors) made for different memories. Good air-conditioning and floor to ceiling windows/doors with ocean view. Huge dishwasher and refrigerator! Lots of fluffy towels.||The ocean is a little secluded which was great for small children. The cave on the side was a plus. Outdoor shower WITH HOT water. Nice lawn for running, and parking for 2 cars. We had no problems with the Wifi, even doing a conference call . One problem with the location was not too many restaurants in the area. Some closed after the weekend. Buses were good...

Getting there was super smooth, a single fast train from Tokyo without any connections necessary and breathtaking views.

The property is incredibly well located, right on the beach. We relaxed in the jacuzzi while listening to the sound of waves and had a barbecue as the sun went down.

The next morning we woke up and had coffee while watching surfers riding the morning waves... the kitchen is fully equipped but we decided to go for lunch to the nearby pizza place before heading back to TYO feeling...
