Meiwa-so — Hotel in Takaoka

I have been to Toyama about 13 years ago, and I also planned to go to Himi but the weather was bad so I missed the Amaharashi Coast.

I plan to visit it again and eager to see the Amaharashi Coast bathing in the sun this time, so I booked the guesthouse of 女岩莊. The whole week of Toyama was raining, but it was cloudy sometimes in the afternoon. I prayed for a sunny day or even cloudy day is okay when I go to the beach, and the God promised.

I walked on the beach and see the Mt. Tate behind the mist, there were some snow not smelting yet. The ridge line of mountains was not clear but I was satisfied.

After taking pictures I walked to the 女岩莊, it took only about twenty minutes. The guesthouse is old but clean, the boss of guesthouse is friendly and the food is sooooo delicious! I am a person who doesn’t particularly like seafood a lot but the seafood here is so impressive.

I had the pot with anglerfish, and the boss grind its heart and put the plum on it. There is no fishy smell at all. I h ave to say that if I know what it is before I ate I will not give it a try, it was thankful that I didn’t ask the name of dish😆

It was a great experience.

As shown in photos, you can try a lot of fresh seafood delivered from Himi and authenic japanese dishes. Some are not seen too often on the table such as the ブリ大根 and Miso Squid. Sashimi are in great quality and plenty in quantity. Definitely worth the price.

View is great. The location is having a little distant away JR station nearby, it takes around 15mins walk to the Minsuku. Surrounding neighbourhood are quiet which lets me relax and rest well, though you might hear the train passby sometimes. Rooms are in traditional Minsuku design but well maintained. It even got FireTV!

The boss and staff are quite caring, although I just barely understand Japanese, they will try their best to help me...

Great place by the ocean. We were lucky to have clear day on the first day to take photos of the island with the snow capped mountains in the background, which is within walking distance along the beach. The host and owner is very friendly. He offered to drive us to the spot for photo in the morning and also drive us back in the evening. The food is very delicious with a lot of fresh sashimi and tasty hotpot. We were there during an I crowded time and we got to eat in a private room and also have a view of the ocean from our room.
