Minshuku Miyara — Hotel in Taketomi

From the moment I arrived to Kohama jima ferry terminal, I was greeted by Natsuki san and Shinobu san and immediately felt like family. They are both very kind, genuine and were willing to help with whatever I needed. Their attentiveness and eagerness to ensure my comfort were evident throughout my 2 night stay. Learning about their family and their roots prior to moving to Kohama jima, drinking awamori with them/other guests and going snorkeling with Shinobu san, are memories that will stay with me forever. I stayed for 2 nights but this was definitely not enough. Please feel comfortable to stay at least 3-4 days if you have the time. Daily breakfast at 08:00 was perfect and filling. There are a few izakayas around the minshuku which you can try for dinner (reservations required so please call in advance). Natsuki san went out of her way to help me with reservations and even walked me to dinner to make sure I found the place (I do not speak Japanese). I can't wait to come back. This is a must visit island and minshuku. Do not miss out and do not stay anywhere else when you come to Kohama...

新婚旅行の八重山諸島めぐりの中で、1泊させて頂きました。 初めての小浜島やクルージングでわからないことが多く質問ばかりだったのですが、宿泊前からLINEや電話で丁寧に教えて頂きました。 宿泊以外に小浜島での過ごし方もご提案頂き、前日には今なら月が綺麗に見えてますよと教えてくださったこともとても嬉しかったです！ また、宿泊翌日にはオーナーさんとクラウドファンディングに参加された皆様にとって大切な船に乗せて頂き、クルージングに連れて行って頂きました。 こちらは本当にお値段以上すぎるので、宿泊された皆さん全員に是非おすすめしたいです！ 海が綺麗すぎるのはもちろん、こんなに自由度の高いアクティビティは他では経験できません！ 船はとても綺麗で乗り心地も最高で、オーナーさんがすごく大切にされているのを感じ、私達も乗せてもらっていて幸せな気持ちになりました😊 私たち夫婦にとって本当に一生忘れられない旅になり、帰ってきても何度も小浜島でのことを思い出し、絶対また行...
