We had an amazing four-night stay at Hoshino Resort BEB5 Tsuchiura, and it was truly one of the highlights of our trip. From the moment we arrived, the front counter staff greeted us with warmth and friendliness, making us feel at home right away. They were always available to assist, offering helpful recommendations for local attractions and cycling routes, which made our stay even more enjoyable.

What makes this resort stand out is its unique location—right at Tsuchiura Train Station! The convenience of stepping off the train and being just steps away from the hotel was unbeatable. Whether we wanted to explore the town or embark on a cycling adventure, everything was within easy reach.

As cycling enthusiasts, we loved the resort’s bicycle-friendly atmosphere. The resort is designed with cyclists in mind, allowing us to park our bikes right outside our room for easy access. The bicycle-themed decor throughout the hotel added a fun, unique touch that complemented the area’s love for cycling.

The location near Lake Kasumigaura made for some breathtaking rides, and the resort’s thoughtful amenities—like secure bike storage, repair services, and detailed cycling maps—made it an ideal stay for anyone who loves cycling. Fancy cycling-themed hotel close to one of the most famous cycling routes in Japan, the Tsukuba Kasumigaura Ring Ring Road

Located above the Tsuchiura Station, this hotel which caters to cyclists is very convenient if you plan to try one of the most famous cycling routes in Japan, the Tsukuba Kasumigaura Ring Ring Road.

With clean, fancy and spacious rooms, cycling-themed large lobby with lots of tables and seats for group activities (e.g. playing cards) and some attractions to keep the children entertained (e.g. strawberry balls pool, strawberry tricycle photo spots), this hotel offers bicycle rental service and also organizes a water bicycle activity on the nearby river during the cherry blossom season. You have to book in advance as it's quite popular and quickly sells out.

Extremely convenient for cyclists, bicycle racks and the like are provided.

If you are not convinced by the rental service, you can head to the cycling shop on the ground floor, which offers a wide variety of accessories and bicycles, as well as rental service.

I gave it four stars because I find it a little expensive for the location (i.e. in the end, Tsuchiura is in the middle of nowhere) and there is no way to open the room window. Additionally, they do not provide free parking spots for motorcycle, albeit I think they advertise this feature on the...

JR土浦駅直結でプレイアトレの中にあります。 JR土浦駅はプレイアトレの3階が改札なのですが、改札を出てまっすぐ歩くと正面に、ホテルの入り口があります。 3階の一部と4、5階がホテルフロアになります。

改札を出て、輪行を解除して、自転車ごとチェックイン！！ 外から来た場合も、自転車ごと乗れる長いエレベーターなので楽々です。

客室は、自転車を持ち込めるパターンと、廊下に置くパターンがあります。廊下に置くパターンの部屋でも、サイクルスタンドをお部屋に持ち込めば、室内に入れることが可能です。エレベーターホールに、サイクルスタンドがいくつか用意されていました。

一緒にいったメンバーは、一人はヤグラルーム、一人はサイクルルームでした。これで3種類の部屋をすべて体験（笑）

TAMARIBAには、たくさん椅子とテーブルがあって、みんなで語らえるようなつくりになっています。コロナ禍じゃなければ新しい友達をつくったりとか出来そうですね。

チェックインは機械式。現金の取り扱いがないので、カードか電子マネー決済です。GOTOトラベルのせいかもしれませんが、ちょっと時間かかりました。

お部屋には、必要最小限のアメニティしか用意されていないので、足りないものは、フロント前から持っていきます。 部屋着は有料サービス(200)でした。

4階フロアは、工具などがありました。コインランドリー、電子レンジ、ウォーターサーバーなども完備されています。

洗濯ネット、ピンチ付きハンガー、乾燥用にサーキュレーターなどもフロントで貸し出してもらえるようです。 シューズ用乾燥機もフロントで借りれるみたいです。雨の中走ったりすると、靴の乾燥に苦労するのですが、こちらなら大丈夫そうです。 雨は降らない方がいいですが…

5階フロアは、ミーティングルーム的なスペースがありました。

お部屋の前に、地球ロック出来る駐輪スペースがたくさんあります。かっちょええ〜 って、私が泊まったお部屋の前は、だだっ広い駐輪スペース… なんでやねん（笑）地球ロック出来ず… まあ、BROMPTONだから問題ないんですが、ちょっと寂しかった…

ダブルルーム すごく良い感じでした。 土禁です。入り口近くに、トイレとお風呂があって、少し進むとベッド、部屋の奥にソファスペースがあります。 物をかける場所がたくさんあるので、たくさん洗濯しても安心（笑） オープンしたばかりなので、どこもきれいで、快適。 お風呂は、ジャパニーズスタイル！木桶！！って思ったけど、プラスチックだった。でも質感のよい木桶風プラスチックめちゃいいです。 バスタオルの設置方法もオシャレ！ お部屋に置いてある本もおしゃれ〜 サインプレートも自転車！！

他のお部屋も見せてもらいました。 ヤグラルーム！ 3名まで泊まれます。 二段ベッド！3名泊まる時は、下のソファスペースがベッドになるみたいです。布団の距離が近いから、仲良しさん用ですね。 歯ブラシコップに1、2、3って書いてあるのが、すごくいいなって思いました。 ダブルルームより少し広い感じでした。

サイクルルーム！ 別格でした。めっちゃいい！！ 3階だったのですが、不思議なことに、3階の方が景色も良いという（笑）土浦駅のホームが見えます。撮り鉄の方にも良いかも！ 壁の絵とかも、超かわいいです。自転車はサイクルラックにかけられますし、ヘルメットをかける場所とかいろいろ考えられています。 自転車用にスポットライトもありました。わかってらっしゃる！！ ベッドはツインで、オプションで自転車と添い寝用のシーツを借りれば、自転車と一緒に寝ることも出来ます。 お風呂はガラス張り… しかも広い！！

どの部屋もめちゃくちゃ良いです。 もちろん、サイクルルームが最高！！ まだまだ新品感あって、GOTOトラベルのある今が泊まりどき！！

カフェは24時間営業です。 まるごとメロンソーダ(1200)を頂きました。 茨城の正当な名物みたいです。 凍ったメロンを器にしたクリームソーダなんですが、実も残っているので、それを削って食べていたら、自転車仲間が、変なことを思いついたようで… 二人で、メロン削り合戦（笑） そして、光らせる（笑） もう、なんか、久々に、大笑いしました。近くのテーブルで、真面目に商談か何かをされている方がいらして、その方達と、私達の落差がすごいなってのも引き金になって、笑いが止まらなくなりました。楽しすぎた！ ぜひ、メロン削りからのメロンランタン活動やってみてください（笑） 冷たいので冬は厳しいかもしれないけど…
