I stayed in Yakushima Green Hotel for 2 nights with my friends in February 2020. It was a very pleasant experience that was beyond our expectation.
Staff were nice, considerate and helpful. They tried their best to satisfy our special requests, from arranging allergy-free (seafood-free) meal, to buying birthday cake (which was really tasty) for me to surprise my friend. Staff were equipped with a little translation device. Therefore, language barrier was not a problem.
Room was spacious with nice decoration. You can enjoy the spectacular sea view simply through the window. In good weather, you can even see the sun rising from the sea surface. Bed was comfortable and you would definitely have a good sleep. It is especially important when you are exhausted after having a 12-hour hike in the mountains.
Dinner and breakfast provided were nice and adequate, giving you a chance to taste the local delicacy of Yakushima.
The nearest bus stop is just a stone's throw from the hotel. Besides, there is a famous Soba restaurant near the hotel. My friends and I were eager to try the Soba. But sadly it was closed when we arrived the restaurant.
If you are going to visit Yakushima, I would definitely recommend you to stay in Yakushima...
Read moreWe spent three nights here and were mostly satisfied with the experience. They offer a good range of rooms and we selected an ocean view. The view was great but you can only open the window about 6cm. It would have been really nice to open the window wider as it was warm-ish and there was no a/c available at this time. The staff were really wonderful, though. They were always helpful, knew who we were, gave great information, were flexible and always always warm and welcoming. ||The television has one English language channel though the volume is limited which makes it difficult to hear. The internet, at least on our floor, was really slow and even loading Facebook required waiting. The room was a nice size but the towels were small, bright yellow and cheap. The onsen was shallow - suggest you try the place next door with the hot rocks. There are several restaurants within a 5 minute walk. The hotel is about 20 minutes walk from the ferry terminal (we took a taxi). ||I don’t know what other options are available. The Green Hotel seems about the best you could expect here. We weren’t unhappy but there was nothing, other than the staff,...
