Our last, most expensive, and by far worst stay in Japan. The whole building exudes cheap glamour painted over torn paper and moldy baths. We requested a pickup from the bus station, which the hotel did generously agree to, but left us there for nearly an hour while 4° outside, and only came by once we had walked more than halfway. This in part caused us to miss the offered dinner, so we were graciously offered cup ramen instead. Of course, the loud drunken guests at dinner continued to eat until well after we arrived, and the noise chased up 3 floors (no elevator) through our thin walls til morning. At least the baths were hot! So steamy they nearly hid the scummy tiles and mildewed ceilings in them, but not steamy enough to justify the tiny off-center curtain to the mens bath, allowing any to see in as they change clothing. Disgusting. The shower in the room shares space with the toilet and looks more like a compact ship's shower, with barely room to move, presumably to compact as many drunkards paying 35,000 ¥ a night in at once. The room is uninteresting. No sound proofing, torn washi paper windows, thin futons. Yukata smell strange and feel scratchy. All in all, it was a horrid experience.

Stayed here for 2 nights in the traditional room with futon beds, overall decently spacious much bigger than most hotels/accommodations in Japan. It was a rather comfortable stay with a great view of Mount Fuji from our room window. There is a private toilet in the rooms and also a public bath on the 2nd floor of the property. Really important to note that there are no lifts/elevators in the hotel, something to take into consideration if you have big bulky luggages. There is a bus-stop down the street from the hotel, a loop bus service that brings you to and fro both Mount Fuji and Kawaguchiko stations. **Note that bus frequency is a 2 hour interval 😅🥲** When I checked in, I arrived late at around midnight and tried to get help from the front reception. They do not provide any service for arranging a taxi pickup or shuttle service so for anyone arriving in Mount Fuji late (past 6pm onwards), consider how you will get to the property as it’s about 12km away!

They often have their rooms on Airbnb which are more expensive to book. But it was a last minute booking on our end so we paid about $300 USD which is a bit much for this place. If you pay $150 or under then it’s worth it especially with a beautiful view of Mt. Fuji. They provided free bottled water. Clean rooms and acceptable sized bathroom. They had rusty bikes for rent at 1,000 yen. They don’t have much going on at this place. They had a very small spa which we didn’t use since it looked just ok. I would recommend only if the price is $150 or under. Otherwise, customer service was fine. They have no elevators so they carried our suitcases to the 3rd floor but we carried them back down. The grounds can be serene which we really liked. They seem to offer glamping as well with the white domes.

So I got to stay at this place for a night. The first thing I found bit annoying was the fact that you need to remove your shoes while entering the hotel and need to wear indoor slippers. So for a person who is not into traditional Japan, its not a right hotel for that person. I wasnt aware of this rule so for me it was sth so irritating. Beside this, No elevators. So if you have heavy luggage you gotta help yourself. I personally feel with the charges we paid (¥30,000) an elevator should be there. The room was clean and all. But hot and cold water in shower was fluctuating as hell. The location is 10 on 10. As you can see Fuji right in front. If you want to do bbq with fam it is a good place... Beside this, for girls as there are no mirrors in room you gotta run to and fro to bathroom for makeup so its a heck. Apart from that the staff is good, friendly and kind. We wanted to checkin early at 2pm and we were given the room.. So its upto your priorities....
