Pros:|- Very clean and tidy|- Japanese style|- resaonable variety of food in breakfast buffet|- Warm, caring and professional hospitality|- basic but sufficient|- a small but decent onsen in-house|- only 5-10mins walk from Iwappara ski train station (p.s. dont trust solely on google GPS, it led us to the ally and rear door of the hotel despite we could have arrived striaghtly to the main entrace on the main road!)|- the ski rental seems well organised (saw that but havent tried as got my own ski equipment)||Cons:|- need transport to go to other ski sites in the area except Iwappara-Joetsu Kokusai (hotel shuttle - not regular and have to arrange with reception and may or may not be available, or taxi - readily available and a gd choice if u got 3-4 persons , or by train from Iwappara train station to JR Echigo Yuzawa Station - in dec 2016 that costs 190 yen per ride )||Overall, quite a nice place to stay with resaonable and affordable cost. ||The only thing to note is, if u want to have dinner outside, go early, as early as 5pm (which i soon find that is a routine of the locals) so that you can return by the 1915hrs or 2114hrs train from JR Echigo Yuzawa. (the hotel bus service stopped by 1845hrs in any case).|Second, most shops and restaurants along the main road ""onsen street"" will close by...

With spacious traditional Japanese rooms and your own facilities we had a comfortable rest, however the largest convenience was an entire floor dedicated to ski facilities. Complete with a drying room, ski hire if needed, boot room and charging areas it was simply a handful of steps from there to the waiting buses and drivers ready whisk you off to any number of surround ski resorts. The endless buffet breakfasts provide ample sustenance and cater to every taste. I would like to once again than the staff for their service, advice and how the ensure we could get...
