Kagura White Horse Inn — Hotel in Yuzawa

My wife and I was here in late December 2018 for 2 nights. We wish we stayed longer. White Horse is a really nice wooden concept Inn about 100m away from Mitsumata ropeway. Access from Echigo-yuzawa station is about 20 minutes by an hourly Public Bus. (Bus No. 1) ||||The Inn is warm and equipped with a shared cooking and dining area. Coming from South East Asia, the weather was really cold for us (-6 degrees when we were there), but the Inn was really comfortable and has a number of heaters in the common areas to keep you warm. It felt like staying at a friends place. The rooms were basic but spacious. The beds were comfy and this is important after being bashed up in Kagura as first time skiers. ||||The Inn owner Nori is a really friendly person who goes out of his way to make you feel at home. The Inn also provide full ski/snowboard equipment rental at good rates and you can get discounted Kagura Ski Resort passes from him. Highly recommended and we hope...

actually i went here on 2015 , Me and my 2 other cousins went here on summer , when Fuji Rock Festival was held. It's really hard to book a hotel in Nigata or Yuzawa for me because i don't really understand japan language , it was summer and they have a cozy room like a lodge , with 3 beds inside and small TV . The surrounding was really quiet , and they don't serve breakfast probably because it's not winter and not so many people staying around , so we have to go to the festival to find food. This hotel is very odd but has some surprisingly great features. Think a blend of Austrian/Swiss/German décor with Japanese anonymity and squishiness. ||I really liked the common areas inc kitchen downstairs. The drying room was terrific. The breakfast buffet was fine the first time but getting a bit boring the second and third times round. The bedroom with ensuite was pretty tight. Surprisingly we weren’t bothered by traffic noise despite the room facing the road. There is terrific access to the ropeway. And discount tickets for the fab onsen down the road. Swings and roundabouts. Would I stay here again? Not sure but for the budget conscious you can’t...
