I want to be absolutely clear from the start: I liked staying here. However, there were a few issues I had with this hotel, which I think could really make this place a perfect spot to stay when visiting Salt.
I have the feeling this place is pretty new, so these are kind of growing pains. Be that as it may, my pro’s and con’s of staying here are as follows:
location: is perfect, not far from Downtown, on what may be the most beautiful road in Salt proprietor: super friendly, accommodating guy. Doesn’t speak a word of English except for “OK” but is a charming guy nonetheless cafe area/breakfast: the bar is really nice and the breakfast is local and has delicious options. the room, in general (check the con’s), is quaint and ours had a little balcony we could sit on. the view: is nice, overlooking the valley
we didn’t have any curtains, which is weird considering there’s a house diagonally opposite. We later noticed it was a vacant house, but still. the warm and cold sides of the taps are inversed. You’ll spoil a lot of water waiting for it to heat. Also, you have to switch on the heater if you want warm water. Not a problem but it’s not something you automatically think about. A notification about this would be advised. cleanliness: the room was not that clean. Again, I don’t mind really, but it’s something people will expect. Especially the mirrors and windows were dirty, the bathroom could’ve been cleaner too. Three pillows came without covers, I figured these were ornamental. Still, it’s kind of weird when you are sleeping with pillows that cannot possibly be kept clean. none of the plugs of the lights could be plugged into the sockets provided. I may just not understand the system, but I couldn’t figure it out.
That is about it. Again, we enjoyed our stay. At the same time I think the price for the room is too steep for the product.
Take these items into consideration, and you could have a splendid hotel. One which every guest can enjoy to the fullest.
Again: I kind of suggest staying here when in Salt. It has potential and with some honest reviews they can...
Read moreLovely hotel with lots of opportunities to get better which I why I'm only giving three stars. I had a lovely stay but feel next time could be even better.
The Good: traditional design friendly staff location (just 5 mins walk downtown) breakfast is amazing
To improve: No internet - I understand you want to be traditional, but people need to work, want to share their experiences and contact family so this must be improved. Toiletries - please add some shower gel or something - normally this is included by most hotels. No room cleaning - after 4 nights I felt by room could so do with a little cleaning shower is tiny - I couldn't lift my arm up without hitting the...
Read moreWe stayed in Jordan Heritage Madhafa in As-salt a few weeks ago and really loved it there. I would absolutely recommend it to families and couples. Please be aware it’s on a very steep hill so maybe not appropriate for someone who struggles with walking. The room was clean. large with air conditioning. The views are of the city and are fabulous (Ask for a room with a balcony) This is semi run as a charity and there is a little shop selling local wares. The breakfast was fabulous and part of our booking.com package, please be aware, coffee and tea are charged as extras. I really enjoyed my stay here and would...
