Gerasa Hotel — Hotel in Amman

I held my graduation party at this hotel almost a week ago, and everything was just terrible! There was no supervision whatsoever during the entirety of the party. My family and I had to organize and do everything ourselves. The DJ was the worst. I contacted her a week before the party, giving her all the details: the names of the songs, the duration I wanted them played, and the specific parts of the party where each should be played. I even made a YouTube playlist with the correct order and sent her the link. Whenever I asked her about it, she kept assuring me the link worked and that she was going over the playlist to make sure everything was as I wanted.

When the party was about to start, just a few minutes before I entered the hall, I realized she had been lying all along and had no idea what I had asked her to do. Then, she proceeds to tell me, literally two minutes before my entrance, that she got the job at 12 a.m. the night before, even though I had been texting her for a whole week with all the details! During the first part of the party, she didn't play half of the songs on the list and skipped about 10 of them just so she could play the songs she wanted, in the way she liked. She played each song for over three minutes, which was incredibly boring, and we had to give her signals constantly to move on to the next song.

There was no communication between the DJ and the so-called "supervisor." Whenever we asked the supervisor to tell the DJ to move on to the next song or to give her any instructions, she told us to do it ourselves! She basically didn't want to deal with the DJ at all! This supervisor kept disappearing and wasn't there most of the time to ensure things were running smoothly, like making sure people were seated when I entered or when a new segment of the party was starting.

I couldn't do many of the sections I had planned because of how poorly everything was organized. It felt like they were rushing through the whole event. They didn’t inform us ahead of time that there was supposed to be a cake-cutting section while I wore my graduation gown. They only told me about it during the party, by which time it was too late because the food section had already started. Speaking of which, the cake they made us for the theme was nothing like we asked for, the colors were off and the quality of the cake was really bad, it was mostly cream and barely cake.

When they served the food and snacks, a video of me was supposed to play on the projectors. Instead, they started the video halfway through, so I had to go and restart it from the beginning myself. They didn’t even dim the lights or turn them off so people could watch the video properly.

During the final section, when we were supposed to play English/international party songs, no one bothered to adjust the lighting. Even after multiple people asked, we had to adjust the lights ourselves. They didn’t even know which switch controlled which light! They also turned the lights and music off at the end of the party when the guests were still in the hall, although there were about 10 minutes left of the party's time. When we told the DJ there was still some time left, she lied saying they have a party right after ours, but we knew beforehand, from the management themselves, that there wasn't and that we're the last party of the night! It was just rude and very disrespectful towards us and our guests who haven't left yet!

Overall, it was a horrible experience. They ruined my dream party, which my family and I had worked so hard to plan, with their extreme lack of professionalism. Quality of the hotel furniture is nice compared to other hotels in amman The receptionists the (ladies ) are welcoming and nice SHAHED IS PERFECT! AND ADDED VALUE TO THE STAY WITH HER PROFESSIONALISM SHE MADE MY STAY COMFORTABLE and Satisfactory. NAZEK IS LOVELY AS WELL AND KIND HEARTED she always tries to help the client feel comfortable. Ladies have been trained by a half lebanese controller so they are the best . L Breakfast is rich and very well presented the manager of the restaurant is amazing The staff isn't on top really they need lots of follow up !! U ask for water they forget the glasses Like if u are receiving visitors u will be embarrassed no courtesy at all . They are a real mess there They forget to clean tables and just wait for the manager to show up so they can move themselves . Total carelessness in terms of hospitality . The chefs are patient and good enough they deliver what u ask for with no complaints and total respect .

I stayed for 19 days and its enough . I don't recommend long stays They need lots of training . Our graduation party was yesterday, it was bad and less than expected, party was at 4:00 pm and we arrive at 3:30 pm , organized teem agreed with us to arrive early 1 hour When we arrived the hall was dirty and who wiped up the danc floor use same rag to clean the tables !!!! Baloon colors not tha same acoording to tha agreement ,, That’s not the problem and we have been ignored that

At dinner time, the agreement was 3 plates of pastries and 3 plates of appetizers , just 2 table had 3 plates , and the organizing team told us the snacks refill ( we didn’t order that she told us this part 3 times )! But off course we hadn’t refill and we hadn’t extra plate for the rest tables 😔😔😔 (There was excess amount !)

When leaving time , the service team asked me for a bag to put excess pastries! ( whole hotel didn’t have a bakage for a pastries ! ) She threw food on the top of each other and kibbeh broken

We ordered to have a coffee service, service girls made an one round, then put the coffe on the corner! I asked them many time to made an extra rounds and serving coffee for the guests!
