King Hotel Astana — Hotel in Astana

This is a luxurious 22-floor hotel in the city of Astana but far from the center, in an area of huge buildings next to small low houses. My experience there was overal not pleasant. First of all some of the people at the reception do not know how to behave. At check-in I was the first to aproach the reception desk in a group of 5 people, and to my surprize men were served first and I had to wait!!! And when I tried to complain because I was in desparate need to use the bathroom, I was completely ignored. However, others emploees were really kind and helpful. The restaurant where breakfast was served was very untidy with table cloths dirty and half- hanging on one side of the tables. There were no individual souvers and their surface were cleaned with a brush!!! Poor variety of breakfast, fruit only in slices (!!!), salt/pepper only on few tables, bad quality of coffee... The hotel is near to the airport. It is 22 floors in height. Nice, big rooms. What a view from the room. All the amenities of the five star provided-Iron with ironing board, electric kettle,all the toiletries and dental kit and much more. ||||On the last day(25th july 2018 in room no. A-2205),we got late and reached the hotel at 10.15 p.m.The dinner was over.when we talked to the receptionist, she started to make us realise our mistake(yes miss receptionist i admit it was our mistake), But i am really thankful to the night duty manager.He not only arranged our vegetarian food but also made us comfortable. We are grateful to sweet lady SARA also who served us with a smile even after her duty timings. At first sight the hotel is very good. For sure once this was a relly 5* Hotel in Astana. However, it was at least 10 years ago, since then lot has changed around the city, once this was a centre of Astana, now it is hard to say that the hotel is located in the cntral part but rather in the peripherique part. Now it is a mid range hotel. The furniture is quite old, the toilets also are from th previous century and from time to time it makes you think about the cleaning part of the toilets. ||If you plan to visit Astana, and look for cheap hotel around the city where you will not spend lots of time, but will only sleep till morning this is probably what you need.
