Metelitsa Hotel — Hotel in Karagandy

Metelica is a relatively new hotel, close to one of the main roads through the city. Located in an inner yard, the sound from the traffic is almost zero.||||My room was rather tiny, with one big bed, a table and a chair, and important; a fridge to keep the water bottle cold (a new bottle every day). The style reminds me of Britain, with thick curtains, soft carpets on the floor and the heavy furniture.||||The hotel offers free wi-fi in all rooms. ||||The bathroom has standard european equipment, and the shower gives plenty of water (but with somewhat fluctuating temperature).||||The reception offers 24 hour service and can help you with getting a taxi and such problem-solving. The reception handles the english language.||||Price tag is modest. My single-bed room did cost approx 35€ per night, but there are several different types of rooms.||||The hotel restaurant offers some pre-defined breakfast dishes of a decent quality. Nothing fancy, just a meal to get you started. The restaurant also has a dinner service with different dishes, and I recommend the grilled salmon or the grilled pepper beef combined with fried potato (really good taste). The price tag for a good dinner equals approx 10-15€. The staff has problems with the english language, but somehow things works out fine (but the service time can bee slightly long). The standard of the restaurant and the food is OK, but if you want to impress a customer with a fine dinner, I would recommend a restaurant more used to international customers.||||I can recommend this hotel for business stay!||||BTW: The gardening by the hotel entrance...

The hotel is located right next to the main street, but just enough out to ensure that the traffic noise didn't bother us at all. Nearby one can find a variety of shopping malls and restaurants. The room was clean, spacious and in good shape, we had no problems whatsoever. The breakfast was a positive surprise, with a good selection of omelets and some local specialities also. The staff is friendly but doesn't speak too much English. Everything was handled professionally, but it wasn't really possible to ask any tips for exploring the neighborhood.
