The VIP Luxury Lounge — Hotel in City of Kisumu

We had a booking at your hotel this week but on arrival we were told all rooms were booked, even when all rooms were clearly cleaned and ready for use, with all doors open.

Even though we were the first guest there that day, we were bumped out of our confirmed reservation, and then only after much discussion and waiting were we taken to the nearby Melvic Hotel.

At that hotel, we were charged a higher rate, not including breakfast as it should have been, and the hotel was not as nice.

The VIP hotel promised to take care of it all but they did NOT and so we had to pay more for less and also suffer the inconvenience

The VIP housed our group of 19 from the US for relief work at Ring Road (Nyalenda). The rooms were comfortable, the compound very safe, and the service 100% top notch for our group. I'm comparing the VIP to other hotels I've stayed at in Kisumu nearby Ring Road. Compared to Nairobi hotels, I'd rate the facility 3 star and the staff 5 star. However, next to Ring Road, they get a comparably higher rating. We hired their daily breakfast service and it was amazing (especially the fresh omelettes to oder). Beautiful place, lovely music, food great too. Our waiter was a tad rude though. When I told her I only wanted one pink Gordon gin in a can and not two, she got quite an attitude saying it had already been input in the system. Am not much of a drinker, I only wanted one.
