少林花园餐厅 SHAOLIN GARDEN RESTAURANT — Restaurant in City of Kisumu

Can’t believe how amazing this place is for kisumu! Found it from a work colleague who ordered takeaway for a lunch party, but the food was even better in person. The ambience is lovely, huge garden with ample space and lush greenery. Food is as authentic as you’re going to find in Kenya, and the price isn’t bad for a nice sit-down. Recommend the green beans, pork bbq ribs, salt and pepper shrimp, mapo tofu. Dumplings were decent but could use someone teaching the cooks the right mix for dipping sauce and better folding technique. Some ingredients subject to availability (as usual in this part of the country), but couldn’t believe they had real head-on shrimp!! Also saw they have bbq duck on the menu so will have to give that a try next time if it’s available.

Just opened 3 months ago so go support them! We ate there for lunch today and will be going back for dinner again 😋 Might become our favorite place in Kisumu.

Ps - the only ⭐️ I might take off is for serving basmati rice instead of jasmine rice. This one seems like an easy ingredient to procure so hoping someone reads this and fixes the obvious no-no for a real Chinese...

An amazing Chinese restaurant in Milimani Kisumu. The directions on Google Maps are pretty straightforward.

It’s nice and quiet and I love that there is a sitting option on tiny huts for privacy.

The service was great and the staff were ready to help and very patient especially when it came to meal selection as the menu is partially in Chinese and it can be a bit confusing.

The food was great and the portions were decent enough. I specifically looooved the dumplings and fried rice, I could go back for these.

A good chinese restaurant... I am actually planning on going back there today but i hated one thing!!!The noise from the boss to the staff is pathetic. I made my inquiry when i was leaving from the security guy but he was like " that is the boss ".. If you can make that kind of noise when guests are in the restaurant then it means you are worse than that.
