I recently had the pleasure of staying at Maji Moto Cultural Camp, and it was an experience I will never forget. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with open arms and warm smiles by Susan, Salaton, and the entire team. Their hospitality made us feel right at home in this beautiful corner of the world. The camp itself is a perfect blend of comfort and authenticity, offering a unique glimpse into Maasai culture while ensuring we had all the amenities we needed. The accommodations were cozy and well-maintained, and the setting amidst the natural beauty of the region was simply breathtaking. One of the highlights of our stay was the inspiring conversations we had with our hosts. Susan and Salaton shared their vast knowledge about Maasai traditions, history, and their efforts in community development. These discussions were not only enlightening but also deeply moving, giving us a greater appreciation for the rich cultural heritage of the Maasai people. The activities organized by the camp were equally impressive. From a guided nature walk and visits to local villages to traditional Maasai ceremonies, every experience was thoughtfully curated and executed with great care. It was a privilege to witness and participate in these cultural practices firsthand. In addition to the cultural immersion, the team's commitment to sustainable tourism and environmental conservation was evident in every aspect of the camp's operation. It was reassuring to see their dedication to preserving the natural beauty and cultural integrity of the area for future generations. Overall, my stay at Maji Moto Cultural Camp was nothing short of magical. I highly recommend this destination to anyone looking for a truly immersive and enriching travel experience. A heartfelt thank you to Susan, Salaton, and the entire team for making our visit so special. I can't wait to return!

A big family party (12 of us) stayed 3 nights at Maji Moto (Cultural Camp) in September 2024. From the moment we arrived, we were really looked after (great accommodation - even better food!), entertained and educated (great fun and great insight into the Masai people. Highlights included a visit to the local school and market, and sitting around the fire at night with the Chief, listening to Masai songs. BUT ALSO the day safari to the Masai Mara was unmissable - we saw most of the big 5 up close. If you’re going safari, it should be with Masai warriors right!

Highly recommend staying here while traveling Kenya. This place is something different, you learn a lot about Maasai culture and they offer really nice activities for everyone. The people who live here are some of the kindest I’ve ever met, always happy to help, teach and entertain. There’s a small buffet everyday for breakfast, lunch and dinner which is really good food, beds are comfortable and rooms are clean. Bonfire every night after dinner, we will be back :)

Wow what an absolutely phenomenal and out of this world experience my partner and I had at Maji Moto!!! It felt like something out of a cultural movie!!! The staff and Maasai were the most kind, courteous, generous and loving individuals. Felt like we were visiting family and were treated with great care, genuine love and the experience was indescribable. We did a number of activities in just a few days, not one moment was left untended to from visiting the school kids, to camping out in the opul bush, to the safari at the Maasai Mara… We received a truly cultural experience not the typical tourist experience. We were made to feel like and were treated like we were part of the Maasai tribes, learning through experience and really engulfing ourselves in the culture. Susan was the most amazing Liason and hostess, from the moment we made contact and even thereafter. She greeted us like we were family friends coming visited and made sure we had everything we needed from start to finish and even after our trip ended. Joseph facilitated our planning weeks prior and never skipped a beat, he was so flexible and accommodating, I felt like we had our own personal travel planner and we couldn’t have put such an amazing, personalized and exciting itinerary together without him. The staff were so incredible we couldn’t stop talking about them once we left, we made new family and truly can’t wait to see them all again, Rose, Lyon, Qualey, our outstanding Mara driver who was the best of all drivers around, he made sure we saw everything we could imagine and more and so many other staff members who made our entire trip the best trip we’ve ever experienced and the love, and excitement they showed us goes unmatched… The food was so tasty, you can tell the chef cooked with love. The accommodations were so well put together, clean, beautiful, the luxury cottage was so divine and cozy… I highly recommend nights in the luxury cottage as well as the Opul bush, both experiences are incredible and do vastly different in the best ways. Camping doesn’t even compare to the magical night in the bush. Learning from the Maasai warriors whilst communing and living amongst them for a short time, so rich in culture, tradition and tribe!!! There is truly nothing like Maji Moto as it is a once in a lifetime experience that no other Safari camp could ever compare to. If you want a real and authentic Kenyan and Maasai experience, you MUST book with Maji Moto Maasai Cultural Camp!!! You will not be disappointed even in the slightest!!! Thank you Maji Moto and family for the out of this world experience and memories we can never forget!!! The highlight of our...

I can't recommend Maji Moto highly enough. I went with my 2 sons (young adults), delayed from originally planned trip in 2020. ||We really felt welcomed by the excellent hosts, and that we could take part in the life of the camp. We were guided through learning about the ongoing cultural life of the Maasai people, and encouraged to pick activities to match our interests - the boys helped in the kitchen, and I helped some ladies build a stick house! We went on a bush trek/camp, and visited the school, also helping at a regular tutor session for some young people. We did some simple bead making, and practiced our spear throwing and archery. ||The hosts are also able to arrange a game drive to Maasai Mara Reserve - we had a fabulous day with a very experienced guide and saw lots of animals - cheetah, lion, warthog, hyena, ostrich, elephant, crocodile, hippo, giraffe, many antelopes. ||Lovely to finish each day around the fire, looking at the stars, listening to traditional songs and sharing one or two of our own. I feel like we met some special people and built some strong connections at Maji Moto, and we all plan to come back. It is well organised, but also flexible according to interests and needs. Food, accommodation and facilites all great. ||Maji Moto is also a resource for local people, and is developing or maintaining a number of initiatives to support the community, such as the school, a new livestock market, and a settlement/work for vulnerable women with families. I have already recommended it to...
