We had chosen this place to have a Christmas lunch.||Wen we got there it was not very busy.||First the good things. ||||Drinks where served after about 15 minutes waiting, which is acceptable.||Activities for the children where plenty and thats realy a nice thing.||The place is beatifull and exceptionally clean.||Live music was also a plus. ||Prices are reasonable. ||||No the reason I have to leave a bad review||Lunch came parcialy (2 out of 5 orders) after nearly 2 hours.||And what came was cold. Clearly somewhere along the way a mistake had been made. ||Whe told the manager and waited an other half hour. ||We dicided not to wait any longer and demanded the money back (had to pay for drinks and lunch separately in advance)||Just wen we where leaving lunch came but we did not accept. 16pm is no time to start lunch anyway.||It took 20 minutes of discution to get a refund for the food that whe didn't eat. ||.. ||||It's a pitty because it's a beautiful place and since we stay in the neighborhood we would have liked to go there often. ||||||Some free good management tips.||- it's never nice to have to pay for food/drinks in advance, it's worse if the waiters carry (almost)no change. ||- if your staff has to run back an from the caissier for every order (and wait in line there) they lose time they could be serving customers.||- having "a lot of new/tempory staff" is never an exceptable excuse. It's the management's job to train these people before the most busy days. ||- and last but not least, if something goes wrong don't argue, except responsability and offer fair compensation without discussing this.||Things can go wrong, it's how you deal with this when it happens that makes the difference. ||||Ps. the waitress, although inexperienced was nice and friendly.||Hope she won't suffer from mistakes that could be avoided with more adequate planning...
Read moreWe visited the hotel over the Mashujaa weekend with a couple of friends and I must admit that it was a big mistake to visit this hotel. Ordering a simple drink like fresh juice took over 30 minutes and if you would like a second glass of the same, consider another alternative as the response we received was, sorry but that was the last serving. |We requested for a glass and the one that was brought, was dirty, seems like the person incharge of cleaning did not take time to ensure that the glass was clean. After informing the waiter who was serving us, instead of exchanging the glass, he went to the sink and rinsed the glass from there, please note that this sink is purely for washing hands. His colleague joined him and dried the glass with a cloth that she had on her (they thought that we had not seen what they were doing). He then returned to our table and offered us the same glass, totally grossed out by his actions, we politely declined and told him that we prefer using a straw instead.|Our meal, took over one hour before it was brought despite being ready and by the time they were bringing the accompaniments, we were half way done with our nyama choma. Let's not even talk about clearing of the table. Requesting for the bill took another 30 min which did not include all the invoices, so we had to request for the omitted invoice. |The manager on duty that day was equally not helpful at all. If you do not mind the terribly slow service, the place is...
Read moreThis place was amazing! The hotel was wonderful, we had our own private pool, the food was excellent but, the best thing was the staff. We have stayed in many great places over the years and had some real experiences, good and bad, this was most definitely a great one. The staff, all of the staff, not just 1 or 2, were so attentive, kind and accommodating. An example, we organised a safari through the manager and I asked the food and beverages staff if we ciuld have a small snack box made up as we were leaving before breakfast was being served. I said that it didn't have to be anything special, some fruits and biscuits/cake to keep us going whilst we were out. When we got to the reception area to go out on safari, we found a full breakfast waiting for each of us in takeout containers, copius amounts of fruits and cakes and some steaming hot coffee. The chefs had come in early to prepare for us. Amazing. I cannot recommend this place highly enough, close enough to Nairobi so it's a problem getting into the city but far enough away from the hustle and bustle. It was that good my kids are asking when we will...
