Hermosa Garden Hotel & SPA — Hotel in Nairobi

The rooms was nice.|Due to it being not busy the food was not cooked as a buffet, you would order then have it made specifically for you, the food did not match up to the quality of the hotel, out of 10, 4....... my breakfast was free, but I still went to buy my breakfast from a small Mall called The Hub, bout 15mins by Taxi....||I had 2 hotels for my trip one to conduct meetings at and one for my own leisure,to totally relax etc... Hermosa was the one for relaxation,Hermosa was booked for my FULL business trip,,until I had a bit of an experience with a female, which was resolved by management, However due to me having to go to the other hotel for a couple of days, I was asked to clear all my bills, which I found strange, I offered to leave my AMEX as security, my clothes was still in the room,,, but the Manager declined, they wanted payment,I did settle the bill, having returned 3 days later, 2 days later, I had a knock at my door,it was maintenance, he said to me reception wanted to speak to me, I ask what it was about he said to clear my bills, bearing in mind I have 5 days till my trip finishes....so I went downstairs, pay my 14,000ksh bill I had, I was very annoyed with this procedure as I couldn't understand as to why they was asking me for payment,when I did ask there reply was they never said it................so why would maintenance request it............As from that day I didn't purchase anything more from the hotel,.... my hotel was already pre paid............|For a hotel of that caliber those action are very poor, I work in a sector where we have people coming to Kenya about 3 times a year, 8 people at a time. I will not be recommending Hermosa to my Sector, Not sure why I was paying my bills why I was still in the hotel, the food wasn't up to scratch, management seemed a little unsure,my actions was always respect full,never raised my voice.... really I'm struggling understand why i was treated in this way,.....||However I must say the reception kept it very professional, Joy is the name that stands out, very calm and professional, would make a good manager one day, very impressed.....Noxson also,security outside very professional....||Hermosa is a nice Hotel, However management should be questioned about those decisions made.....||Id really like to hear Hermosa response... especially from Management...||But no wont be coming back or recommend Hermosa..||Across the road from Hermosa is a place for...

I had a really great experience at Hermosa. I was brought here for one night on a tour through Pick A Safari. The staff was extremely welcoming and the facility was beautiful. I REALLY enjoyed the sauna. They had some aromatherapy water to pour over the coals which made the experience heavenly.

The chefs were very accommodating with my vegan diet. They made me this mushroom soup that I’ve literally been talking about for the past 3 days. It was sooo good!

While enjoying a hot Dawa for breakfast, a bunch of adorable monkeys came out to play.

The only reason I’m giving this place 4 stars instead of 5 is because the room could use a few things:

1. there were no tissues in the room

2. there was only one trash can, so I found myself carrying it from the kitchen to the bathroom to the bedroom for convenience. Adding an extra trash to the room would solve that annoyance.

3. the smoke detectors had a flashing light that went off quite regularly. There were 3 detectors almost directly above my bed, so it was difficult to sleep with them flashing so much. I was also jet lagged, so that...

A comprehensively well run establishment! The back of house clearly supports the front of house remarkably well - to the point that I was inspired to leave a monetary gift for the entire staff to show appreciation for the hidden figures who I did not have the privilege of meeting. In the front of house the folks that I met and were particularly impressed with included Corazon with a professional and welcoming presence, Mary with great humor and a willingness to push me on my poor Swahili, Warren our unwavering friend and host, Manyalla the friendly face at breakfast making us feel most at home, Benson the indispensable gentleman, Stephen the very capable and helpful manager, and Nelson the truly welcoming, affable, and approachable host. I am certainly leaving others out (sorry!), but by the end of our two week stay the staff felt like family, and I have no doubt that their professionalism will make you feel the same no matter how...
