If I could give Hotel Rudi a rating of 10 instead of the above 5, it probably wouldn’t be high enough. | First, the physical hotel is small, very well maintained, and attractive. The rooms are large and clean. Landscaping is beautiful and the location is close to Nairobi, but in an upscale suburb (Karen) so it is quiet, safe, and serene.| Second, and more importantly, the staff were nothing short of amazing! |My wife and I were there as part of an Arte for Elephants( AFE ) tour and my wife unfortunately fell ill, was hospitalized for two days and had to cut our trip short. The assistant manager (Maitai) and ALL of the hotel staff bent over backwards to accommodate us and make us feel like family. We have never been treated in a kinder, more accommodating way including allowing us to remain in our room until 7pm on the evening of our departure without charge. Our experience on this, our first visit to Kenya, was that everyone we dealt with was kind, happy, and very friendly to all. We will definitely return!| As a side note, the West Nairobi hospital was clean, the staff very friendly and helpful, and very professional. The doctors were superb and quickly diagnosed and treated my wife. Great care at a ridiculously low cost (total of $650 for two days stay, ct scan, and all...
Read moreWe stayed two nights here before the start of our Safari tour. This was our very first stop on our trip. We arrived at the hotel around 1 in the morning after over 35 hours of travel time. We were still so kindly welcomed and greeted with fresh towels and a welcome drink. They also tried to offer us a meal because they wanted to make sure we were fed and didn’t miss out on any of our included meals, however, at that point we weren’t hungry and we’re just ready for bed. They carried our luggage to our room for us which was set up so nicely. We were very comfortable and slept well. The dining staff were so kind and accommodating and the food was all delicious! It felt very safe and felt like it was in a convenient location if you will be exploring some of Nairobi. We went to the Giraffe center and Karen Blixon Museum from there and they weren’t far. The staff that was around when it was time for us to leave lined the gate and sent us off. I would highly recommend...
Read moreWe were traveling with Arte For Elephants on African safari, staying in Hotel Rudi for several days before heading to Masi Mara. I became very ill and had to be admitted to the hospital in Nairobi, unfortunately unable to continue my trip. The staff at Hotel Rudi showed me and my husband such love and compassion. The loving care they extended to us was one of genuine love and concern. I left a piece of my heart with them. I will be back Maitai and Violet! Anyone visiting Kenyan would be lucky to stay...
