My family was home visiting and we stayed at Karina's Guest House. From making arrangements ,to arrival and departure everything was seamless. When we landed , she had already arranged for transport to take us to the guest house, this helped alot since there is curfew. Upon arrival , we were met with John ,the caretaker and helped us get settled even though late as it was. The guest house was spacious and very homely. We had enough room for all of us and extra . Karina came to introduce herself the next day which was really nice.. She is very humble , caring and joyful. I have two boys and the yard around the compound is huge for them to run around. Karina also has a trampoline that the boys enjoyed jumping on . The place is very secure , with security 24/7 and your family ,kids will be safe. John the care taker who has been with Karina for a very long was always there for us when we needed anything. He really made sure we had everything, from clean house, groceries, house supplies and even went over and beyond his call of duty. John thank you , never forget you. My kids had a good time playing with Karina's grandchildren. Sad but happy to leave since the house felt just like home. Karina, thank you and may God bless you and your family . The next time we are back in Kenya, will always call you first ....
Read moreWe arrived in Nairobi on an evening flight and our tour operator, Rhino Watch Safaris, Nyeri booked the Karina Guest House for our party of three as a bed for the night before heading off to Masai Mara early the next morning. Unfortunately one of our party was ill and we ended up staying for three nights.||Our accommodation was great. We had a little house with a double bedroom with en-suite down one end and two bedrooms and a bathroom down the other where I stayed. It was a comfortable room and the bathroom had masses of hot water for showers. We also had a sitting room and a kitchen with fridge and hob. We didn't do any cooking but it was very useful to have the fridge for cold drinks etc. The gardens are beautifully maintained and breakfast was served in the building just next door. Lovely fresh food. A great place to start our trip and the staff were so friendly...
Read moreWe booked the three bedroom cottage which was excellent...two bathrooms and overlooking the immaculately kept lawn and garden area. We stayed there for a couple of weeks, and in between took a few days off to go on a few safaris. They kindly allowed us to leave the luggage with them in between during our excursion to the bush. The staff were amazing and always willing to help in any way, and Anthony (the chef) could cook up a great meal and all delivered to our cottage. ||||The area is very quiet and secure.||||Being in Africa, electricity is often unreliable but they have backup generators. ||||Shopping centre is a 5 min drive or 25 min walk, and Windsor Golf Club is just down the road if you want to eat out in style, or have a drink or coffee while overlooking the immaculately kept golf course and its lakes. ||||Will stay there...
