Sandalwood Suites Nakuru Hotel — Hotel in Nakuru

Initial impression: very good. Modern ambience, tasteful furnishings. You can tell the owner has worked hard to create the "home away from home" feel. Once i got my key and took off my mask i noticed that the room smelled eggy and sweaty. That smell hang onto every corner of the house but was the worst in the living area and kitchen which made me wary of the place's hygiene. I'd like to go through this review room by room to address the cleanliness and hygiene of the place. The kitchen: floors, fridge, microwave and cooker, all utensils, sinks, counter tops and shelves were unclean. Bathrooms: wet floor throughout, crusty sinks and all the chrome fittings were not clean. Towels were also not clean. The bed: comfy but i don't think the housekeeper changed the beddings. They smelled of cologne and hair spray like someone had slept on them. Sitting area: seemed clean but the carpet and upholstery could do with periodic deep clean. In the dining area: the tea and condiments tray had leaky condiments, empty coffee containers, sticky salt shaker and the dining table was quite stained. All signs of poor house keeping. Other notable concerns; The caretaker is friendly and accommodating. One word for her is to have better guest relations. Be there when guests arrive and check out (both times she was not at the property - actually it seemed the staff were completely unsupervised since they were dealing with the guests directly in her absence) It would also be good for her to learn how to be friendly but maintain a professional distance. She does need training on how to inspect the property for cleanliness. The place needs SOPs for all staff. It was completely out of order to find that none of the staff on duty wore their masks especially now when their is a raging pandemic. I am not sure I'd visit again but I'm hopeful that they'll make...

I just recently stayed in Sandalwood suites for 3 days , it was wonderful, the minute you arrive they make you feel at home , Chebet is a great worker and makes you feel at home ,there for anything you need , security guard is great and always there to have a chat , Jack the chef not only cooks lovely dinners but also the breakfast is one of best I have had ,he's always there to help, , great person and worker , Josephine the manager is wonderful,had a chat with her a couple of times over a few questions we had and she helped with everything, I would highly recommend anybody to stay ere if they are in nakuru, the rooms are like studios ,big and spacious,very clean and comfortable, definitely the place to stay in nakuru,thanks...

This place is home. I am definitely coming again. I love the neatness and the customer service. The house keeper fully understand what her duties are and she gives in her best to keep the place refreshing and welcoming. I love the friendly smile even from the gate man.

My time spent was epic I am still contemplating on spending my summer vacation here.

It's home be it where ever you are from.
