Really beautiful property out in the msambweni area of Diani. Great access to the beach and the ocean and they also have a great pool in the compound for this who don’t like being in the ocean. I like that a lot of the sitting and dining areas are outdoors, makes for nice warm dinners under stars and fresh breakfasts in the garden under the palm trees. The house is quite far from Ukunda town so for those looking to go eat out or explore diani please budget accordingly for transport to & from the house. My qualms with the place though was the staff. We went as a group of about 10 people for 8 days and most of us still had to work during the stay and the listing said the house included RELIABLE WIFI. This is not true. The WiFi wasn’t working at all when we got there and the house manager instead of getting a solution of maybe purchasing enough data for all of us (because we’ve paid a fee big enough that should include internet access), he ignored our requests and said we should purchase our own data. Found this very rude and lacking in customer service. The same house manager also mismanaged funds given to him to do house shopping for food stuffs & beverages which ended up with us missing out on food (remember we were a large group) and especially on our last day yet he had been sent to get supplies the day before. There was a lack of hot water situation in one of the rooms that they were not willing to fix and general cleaning of the living areas wasn’t done on a daily. The staff would clean all the rooms but leave the living spaces as is unless we asked them to clean. All in all I feel like the experience at Kaskazi would have been made better had the staff been better at doing their jobs and providing great customer service.

So many pros, so many cons. Beautiful grounds. Amazing wildlife. Wonderful beach. Serene and tranquil. If you're trying to get away from everything, it's at least a 45 minute drive from the nearest store or restaurant, so consider transportation costs if you book it. Cons: the pictures aren't representative of the house, which needs quite a bit of work done. The group I was with was a predominantly working group as it was partially a working holiday; the claim to WiFi is not true, as the router malfunctioned and there were no solutions offered by the staff. There was quite a bit of miscommunication and mishandling by said staff: one of our group had no hot water for her shower, or indeed running water, for half the trip; there seemed to be a miscommunication as well about shopping on the trip; half of the people on the trip got a rash after the trip was over, which was strange because we don't suffer from any allergies, or even common ones; on the morning of departure, there was barely any food for breakfast, despite the fact that we had done a shopping trip the day before and requested breakfast food...small small problems that could be easier sorted with better service and repair work and would need to be fixed before I ever contemplated going back.

Such an amazing place with a tranquil and beautiful atmosphere. The rooms are comfortable, the indoor/outdoor living room is so cosy, and there is a very big and neatly kept garden with several dining areas, a volleyball court, and a very nice pool area, as well as a sand boccia court. The view of the beach itself is stunning, and there are also lots of cool birds and animals in the garden. Two peacocks are wandering around, there is a parrot, lots of cute monkeys, and at night you can see the bush babies in the trees. The ambience here is something else, and I couldn't recommend this place enough. The staff is also super kind and helpful, and everything was always clean and neat. I really enjoy the idea that you buy whatever food and ingredients that you want, and they make the food for you. Such nice people. Also, every meal was amazing!

Asante Sana!!
