We stayed at Kaya Kwetu and honestly, it was such a beautiful experience. Lindsay and Eirik are incredible hosts. From the moment we arrived, they really welcomed us and made us feel so at home. The environment is calming, natural, and just so peaceful. You can literally see the ocean from your room. It’s that close to the beach. Waking up to that view was something else! The space itself is remote, but not too remote. Just the perfect balance. You can take beautiful evening walks on the clean, quiet beach or just relax by the pool, which was also really lovely. We felt completely taken care of. The whole team was kind and thoughtful. The kitchen crew and the chef were amazing + the food was so so good. As someone who isn’t usually into seafood, I was surprised by how much I enjoyed the meals. They were patient and kind about my preferences, which I really appreciated. The rooms were spotless, and the cleaner kept everything fresh throughout our stay. It’s clear that a lot of care goes into the place. One of the most special parts was when Eirik hosted a little art session for us. We got to paint and even brought some of the pieces home. That’s a forever memory right there. It was thoughtful, creative, and just so heartwarming. I’d highly recommend Kaya Kwetu to couples or anyone looking for a quiet, beautiful place to rest, recharge, and just be. It’s a little hidden gem away from the hustle of the city and we can’t wait to go back. We’ll always remember the kindness of Lindsay and Eirik. Thank you for such a beautiful stay! 🙏🏿

We have had the most wonderful days at Kaya Kwetu and would highly recommend this paradise to everyone. Kaya is a peaceful, colorful, and beautiful lodge with an atmosphere that feels like an escape from the busy world. The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming, making you feel at home the moment you step into the lodge. At Kaya, you are served delicious vegetarian food, with every meal being a tasteful and unique experience. One of the owners, Eirik, is an artist, which is why the lodge is filled with colorful and unique decorations in every room, making Kaya a creative and special place. It is such a wonderful place and you do not want to miss it! Thank you so much for our stay here. We have enjoyed every second and hope to be back very soon. Asante sana😊☀️

This place is amazing. The owners are fantastic! They are both well soaked in the Kenyan culture and have their origin Norway. I feel that they have taken the best parts from both cultures. It is well organised and have a deep family and friendship field. It's a heart warming place. The owners are very close friends with the fishermen and the village people. The place is safe. I walked many times alone on the beach after the sunset in the dark. I can only say good things about the place. Good food. Happy and friendly staff. Beautiful nature.. Silent location.

An Unforgettable Slice of Paradise on Kenya’s Southeastern Coast

Our stay at this magical beachfront haven was nothing short of extraordinary. Nestled right on the pristine shores of the Indian Ocean, the location is simply breathtaking — the kind of place that makes you pause, breathe deeply, and reconnect with yourself and the world around you.

From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by Lindsay and Eirik, whose gracious hospitality set the tone for our entire stay. They made everything feel effortless, ensuring we had everything we needed and more. Their attention to detail and genuine kindness added a personal touch that made our experience truly memorable.

Traveling with a group of four Italian families (and quite a few picky little eaters in tow!), we were a bit nervous about food — but the incredible cooks exceeded every expectation. They were not only skilled and creative, but also incredibly accommodating, going out of their way to cater to every child’s unique palate. Mealtimes became something we all looked forward to.

The property is a dream for both couples and large groups alike. While the adults could enjoy massages, lounging by the pool, or quietly taking in the natural beauty, the kids had an abundance of activities to keep them engaged — from the fun art room to safe and exciting outdoor adventures.

There’s a peaceful, almost spiritual atmosphere here that allows you to slow down and rediscover yourself. Whether you’re watching the sun rise over the ocean, taking a long walk on the beach, or simply listening to the waves under a canopy of stars, it’s the kind of place that stays with you long after you leave.

Highly, highly recommended. We left with full hearts and unforgettable memories — and we can't...

Absolutely unforgettable – Kaya Kwetu is a hidden gem!

From the moment we arrived at Kaya Kwetu, we were met with genuine warmth, kindness and professionalism from every member of the team. The place itself is stunning — peaceful, beautifully maintained and full of character — but what truly makes Kaya Kwetu special is the people.

The staff went above and beyond to make us feel at home. Every detail was taken care of with heart and thoughtfulness. Whether it was preparing delicious meals, helping us plan activities, or simply sharing stories and smiles, they made us feel like part of a family.

You can feel the care, intention, and soul that has gone into creating this space. It’s not just a stay — it’s an experience.

I can’t recommend Kaya Kwetu enough. If you’re looking for somewhere that feels both grounding and magical, with the kindest people around you, this is the place.

We will absolutely be back. Asante sana, Kaya...
