We received a free upgrade from out Safari Tour operator Mufasa as it was our honey moon trip. So we were brought to Little Zebra river camp. We stayed there for 3 nights which was one of the longest stays on our safari.||We were greeted very friendly with a nice wet towel so we can cean of the dust after the game drive. We had tent number 7 and there were maybe only 12 tents. So it already felt very special and luxurious.||The tent was huge and very nicely equipped. The bed was perfect though there were too many blankets for the warm weather. The mosquito net was new and fitted very good. Every evening when we had dinner, someone from the hotels comes in and closes all curtains and the net itself and sprays some anti mosquito spray. There was a couch in front of the bed. 2 chairs, a secreter, 2 fans, a mini bar well equipped.|Also we liked the bath, as it is in the tent, but the shower and the toiled are seperated by a glass door. There were 2 sinks so we had plenty of space. Every day they brought 2 bottles of water for brushing the teeth.||The terrace was also very huge but we could not enjoy it as much as we'd like to. As our game dives started early in the morning and when we came back we only had dinner and then went to bed. But the nightsky from the terrace is also nice.|Right in front of the terrace is a river, and behind it the savanna starts. In the morning we could hear wild animals, hippo and other. But we felt save all the time.|There is also an escort then you leave the tent or return to it. The security are all masai local people and they guard you and have a flashlight to guide the way.||The food was very good for us! Breakfast provided us with a wide variety of fruits, some bread, warm and cold dishes, coffee, tea. The only thing we missed (but this is everywhere in Kenya) is some cheese. Dinner was a buffet and we really enjoyed it every day. As everywhere in Kenya it is a little bit inspired by india dishes, as there are a lot of tourist from india. I do not eat meat, so when they noticed they made some very delicious fish for me every evening. The price for beer is ok like in all other accommodations we stayed in. We also got packed lunch and breakfast 2 times, when we went on game dive the whole day. And that food was also good and really enough for us.||The staff was super great!! We, coming from Germany are not used to that good service. It felt like there are 3 people for every guest. And they were there every time we needed something. From the reception to the waiters to the chef. They were all so lovely and great.||There is also a pool that we could enjoy on one day. It has a area for small children and one for adults. We swam in there and then relaxed at the pool for some time with a wine and great sun.||And there is also a great terrace right in front of the dinning area, with a nice view to the river and maybe some animals on the other side. We saw giraffes and some buffalow the one day. ||Overall I can really really recommend this place. Though I'm not sure how expensive it would have been without...
Read moreWe stayed here for 3 nights and enjoyed it immensely. From check in to check out the staff were wonderful, very professional yet friendly, approachable and always ready to help or answer any questions. The guides, drivers & trackers were really really good at their job and found animals for us to see that we didn't know were even there until we were up close and personal and they found us a black rhino although he was far away we were able to get pics w/ a telephoto. They also found us great viewing spots to take a break or have sundowners before heading back in. This is a great place to arrange a sunrise hot air ballon ride over the Masai Mara, it was incredible and included a champagne breakfast afterwards.. The grounds were beautifully kept and landscaped and offered areas to sit and relax either by yourself or in the covered patio overlooking the river and the hippos. The pool was big, very clean, clear and loungers w/ umbrellas to relax. The rooms were gigantic and offered everything you needed included coffee service, stocked mini fridge, storage for cases, clothes etc and a safe. King size bed w/ mosquito netting, overhead fan to a stand fan if you preferred. The linens were clean, crisp, looked very new and the mattress I found very comfortable. The bath had plenty of space, included all the toiletries I needed, clean towels and filtered drinking water refreshed daily, twice a day if needed. The water pressure was low and made it difficult to wash my longer hair but I got it done and never ran out of hot water. My private porch was huge and I could sit out and read or watch the river and the wildlife on the other side. Would have liked to have had a lounger on the porch to be a little more comfortable. The room was serviced twice daily, cleaned in the morning and turn down in the afternoon. The dining room was spacious and the dinner served Buffett style offered numerous options that most in our group found delicious. I am a limited eater due to allergies so I was not able to eat everything but what I could eat was very yummy. The dining staff was very good and always available for drinks and drink...
Read moreWe had an amazing time at River Zebra - The Luxury Royal Safari Lodge. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by the manager, Gilbert, who was both professional and kind. Throughout our entire stay, Joseph took exceptional care of us, especially during meals. His service was outstanding.||A special mention goes to the food, which was truly excellent. As vegetarians, we were impressed by how well Joseph adapted every meal to our dietary preferences. We enjoyed a variety of delicious dishes including fish, eggs, pasta, and pizzas. If we didn’t like something on the menu, he was always willing to offer an alternative.||The breakfasts were also superb, particularly the picnic breakfast we had in the Masai Mara — it was by far the best we’ve had in Kenya!||The location is stunning, with beautiful common areas offering views over the savannah. The swimming pool overlooks the Masai Mara and is a lovely place to relax, as is the restaurant, which is very pleasant.||The rooms are spacious and comfortable, with a small balcony perfect for unwinding. However, one small downside was the shower, which had a very weak water flow and fluctuated between very cold and very hot. After speaking with Gilbert, we learned it might be because we didn’t use the larger overhead shower. Still, it made showering a bit tricky.||The cleanliness of the room was decent, but we felt the bathroom could use some renovation, especially considering its exposure to nature. The bathroom door and fittings could be improved, and while there were a few mosquitoes, it wasn’t too much of an issue.||Overall, we are extremely happy with our experience and would definitely come back. A big thank you to the entire team for their professionalism and...
